@Thor
Dear friend, just stop talking to Benmage and help us lynch Ooba (yes I know you're neutral on him). Seriously, it's just a huge wall of TvT right now, and no one likes TvT (in Mafia
or
StarCraft) because it's boring and gets nowhere. Alternatively, you said in 1230 that there are better lynches, you think. I don't like either of Ceph/Amrun for lynchbait today, so what else ya got for me?

@macmollie
Are you even paying attention in this game? Because it really feels like the answer to that is no.

We should seriously get some steam behind this Ooba wagon. That'd be pretty sweet.

Okay so considering joining the safetydance wagon but it depends on how he answers my question I asked and the resulting interaction.

Alfred Bordempire - I think I remember you saying that he was reacting much like he did as town in The Wire. I just read back through his play there last night as well as a couple of his other recent town games, and are you sure about that?

SafetyDance (4) -

Out of those, I agree currently that SM is flailing like a newbie, I don't really think Thor is scum, and the SafetyDance lynch is being pushed on ten scum claims or something? His posts just haven't triggered me I guess. Maybe it's because the only memory I have of you is briefly being my scumbuddy in LvE before lurking out and being replaced without posting, so I figure if you're lurking here it means you're more likely to be scum.

mollie: okay I will endeavour to make sure I never have to read your posts ever again. :)

Can anyone answer why exactly ooba is scum? I see a lot of "ooba's posts are bad" and "vote: ooba" without much explanation. I know I should be paying more attention, but I'm super busy. This may be a better push than Quadz, since nobody will vote him and I'm having a hard time finding anything other than gut. I want to put my vote somewhere useful so if anyone can answer my question that would be splendid.

If StupendousMan is out of the picture (I'm liking him a little better though), SafetyDance is the best wagon, followed by Thor. I will not vote ooba. Still holding out for Garruk though.

ty syrlacious but that is thor commenting on the wagon and I was specifically looking for what thor thought about ooba as a player in this game that is why I asked. to me the 2 are very different and I don't understand why he is being so stubborn about it but I don't think I am going to get much more out of him.

also you looked at sd's play in the game I linked and even admitted that in that game and this 1 the 2 are very different. so at this point are you still thinking he is scum? cos I am telling you I really think you are wrong.

Thor is town.
SafetyDance is a sub-optimal wagon. The case on him relies on him whipping a whopping 10 scum reads out of thin air and leaving the reasoning in said thin air. It's a potential scum tell, but it gives us nothing because the whole 10 scum reads thing. Too much to sift through there.

Ooba has been generally passive, reactive and mostly concerned with his image rather than finding scum. In his first real post, he has two scum reads - quadz and kanye. He votes for one, but he makes no effort to gain traction on either wagon. A pro-town mindset would have him trying to lobby for more votes on those wagons to garner reactions, generate pressure and help divulge more from which he can gather reads from. He has repeatedly made posts which appear to deflect any attempts to garner insight into his reads, which from a town perspective makes no sense, because again - it does nothing to help gather people to your case, and thus, he once again appears to not actually care whether his wagons gain any ground, just that he has a vote cast somewhere. He's trying to make it appear as if he's involved in this game without actually being involved. He's since moved his vote to Shadoweh, who is his new main suspect, but once again done nothing to actually see if that's a viable wagon.

He's not town bro.

In going back to highlight points, I realize I mistook one of his lines in a post (specifically, "my reads are my content" in #445) as a deflection rather than the intended meaning when he said that. Strike that single point from my case, though I still hold that he hasn't given us much to work with, even his "reads" post struck me as very barren. A lot of "vibe" and similar "reasoning". The rest of that case stands.

The game you linked was a scum game, yeah? Is that your only point of reference? Because last night I checked out a few of his town games and a scum game, and I don't see how you can call him town based on so little. In fact his play looks nothing like his town games I read.

I'm figuring he'll be flaking from here soon enough though anyway.

Guys, seriously.

You can't have 1 town game of someone and 1 scum game of someone and say "Well this is his meta for X"

When you're new to this site and the distinct style of play, your particular play style, habits and nuances are going to rapidly shift as you play more games.

So stop. Read his actions in
this game
.

I think I have played 3 or 4 games with sd and yeah, he replaces out a lot.

the thing that I have noticed about sd is that as town he doesn't always know what to say but as scum he
really
does not know what to say. he is 1 of those players that I would like to give a little bit of space to and see what he is capable of.

the thing is, he provided a list in this game. having been on a scumteam with him in a nightless mountainous game, I appreciate the list.

@Mollie - a "meltdown" isn't a scum tell when I am trying to explain reality to someone too dense to notice it who is also saying that "neutral" is not a read...somehow... I wonder if Syr will get you to notice reality? I wonder if I will be called on misrepping you. Oh gads, seriously, whut?

@AGar - a Day 1 lynchbait? Are you serious? Look at the player list, we don't need to be limiting ourself to culling at this stage and it seems silly to choose to do so. Neither of them are being pro town, which is the basic impetus of your Ooba push, but add in Amrun's awkward defense of me or Ceph's aggressive refusal to actually look at motivation and I think they both look worse objectively.

Reading through this all just looks like a lot of 'you're my bro or I think I can read you well so I won't vote you even though I think there's a good chance you're scum.'

...And this really only applies because /sadpanda

So many people are townreading Thor and I feel like I've missed something. Reading through more of his games kind of makes me wonder - but I knew my read was highly speculative when I made it. (And I'm one of those awful people that has to state them when I feel them because
what if
.) I still stand by it but this recent push gives me uneasy vibes. macmollie's vote (and the leadup for it) on Thor looks like an attempt to find an excuse to get the vote back on him after kanye's 1201. I'm not sure it's indicative of alignment - just gives me weird feels.

@macmollie
- Could I get a summary on your read of Thor, if you plzplz?
@kanye
- Same as above.

(Or maybe just point me in the direction of your read if I missed it? I'll ISO for it tomorrow but in case you beat me to it or wanna lay it out for me... :D?)

@Tammy
- Did Thor's responses give you any better insight about him at all?
