just a peek-in post

My biggest fear about waiting until the end of Pre-Dance to get pairs going is that it makes interactions and pairings seem more mechanical, and conversely, more able to be manipulated.

I'm selective of who I want to pair with, and I have just as few options to mirror that.

Question to ANYONE who'd rather wait more for pairings:
if we're not going through a defined plan for First Dance or coin usage or how we lynch, then what is the benefit of waiting to create pairs?

Creating a townbloc feels like messy NK bait, so the only positive I'm seeing to using up our 6 days, is so everyone can have a fair chance to read the game and make up their mind.

But I'm more inclined to think that waiting is only going to muddy the waters more for people who feel confident or clear in their view of the game.

It is a lot easier to make sure we can set ourselves up to properly make it through intermission with the highest information per slot ratio when we don't lolpartner in the first 12 hours

Like... Yeah, scum have more of an impact on the pairs if we wait, that's kind of how anything goes in mafia when it goes on long enough. The thing that makes it worthwhile is that it also forces scum to leave a more clear footprint to what they're doing, and therefore makes it harder to hide that they are in fact manipulating things.

Plus you mention that waiting will muddy things for people who are confident now, but it's hard to believe anyone is truly confident when there are multiple slots that haven't gotten a foothold in the game yet. And if they say they are, they are most likely being very premature in saying so.

I mulled my Krazy read in my head and I have a stronger scumread on them again, so I think he's not a good partner for you.

Specifically, the fact that he reached out to you at all is pinging me.

Is there something scummy about thinking I'm a good partner? Am I missing something?

I'm not getting your reads on
Dr. W
and
Allo
? Both people I'm suspecting at the moment?

Also I'm still confident with
Nancy
being town.

Do you have any questions for me?

Because I've felt from the beginning of the game that his entire approach to the game has been really off.

It doesn't mesh in my head for him to suggest all of these mechanic options and look to push the thread into detailing how exactly we are going to handle the game, and then suddenly offer you a dance when he has barely gone into any of his reads at all.

It's completely bizarre and I'm having trouble seeing how he doesn't have an outside agenda to what he's doing here, because it looks to me like he's trying to hide behind his setup spec while he secures his spot in the dance.

He's talked about people but it feels like fluff rather than attempts to game solve

i think nancy is townish too for her read on RC

i liked allo's tone

i like W's tone

it's just gut tone read. they seem to have "i dont care about what others think" and expresses opinion in a bold way

of course, scums also try to manipulate this kinda tone, but the genuinity is different slightly, imo, when they are scum and town

i mean i can answer ur questions if u have specific ones. these are where my reads came from in general tho

i also partly dont like explaining every single small things that come to my mind because

1) chances are they are wrong
2) chances are my own opinion of them change later on
3) they clog up the thread unnecessarily we honestly don't need every single detail of thoughts that I have

now, if you accept my love reqeust and we get a lovers chat, i can, of course, explain all the little things you want ;)

The bolded is the only part with actual substance and I am not sure if that's a scum sign

Also good. Partner carefully.

I'm still not taking in the game very well, but I've got basic reads.

Nothings changed since my Gamma tone/style town read, Pinkball, not getting any scummy vibes there
Ank, Taly, Dann, seem kinda town.
Leaning town on Krazy, but not so strongly
Firebringer vs. Nancy gives me a headache, which gets worse when I throw Vedith in. It looks like Vedith and Firebringier both scumread the other. Leaning more towards Vedith being town if one of them is scum
I was leaning scum on Allo, and I can see the arguments, but his recent posts are better.

DoutingThomas haven't seen enough of, RC has been NAI to me.

DR WORM is just too hard, but def not aggressive like KAIN TEPES.

And everyone else hasn't done things I remember.

nope. I don't scumread vedith. I am just not gonna let him think he can control me or the dance. He gotta be a gentlemen and let the lady lead.
