Lord Tsoth, standing in the town center one last time, clenched his black blade with unmatched readiness as someone jumped right onto his well-armored back. Ace Brocolla writhed and wiggled upon the death knight to no great success. Such an act was the most brave and foolish of perhaps any of his acts to date. This is, of course, including the time he shot a rune lord in broad daylight and lived to tell the tale. Lord Tsoth dispatched him with one hand. The slimy wretch let out a pained groan as he met the hard dirt beneath him. Even still, looking up to certain death by the baleful black sword, he put up a clenched fist with his thumb extended out.
"I'm good..."
he lied behind gritted teeth.
The death knights sword came down -- but no! -- Cayden Calien stopped the connection with a flick of the wrist. Tsoth seemed frozen in place if only momentarily as the God of bravery and freedom approached.
"It isn't often the deities intervene in mortal matters,

Calien curtsied sarcastically, mere inches from the black-plume breathing behemoth.
"And I'll leave you to whatever may happen here this day... with a warning. Never again should you -- nay, should ANYONE -- underestimate the great fortitude the people of Cobble have proven to have over these past few weeks. Their bravery is unmatched. Their strength, though dwindled by paranoia and powers beyond you and me, is unstoppable. Lord Tsoth... welcome to Cobble. I hope you enjoyed your stay."
Angered, the black-armored demon swung upon a God that was no longer there while the grimy colosseum owner took this time to catch his breath and slink away on the ground. Tsoth's footfalls boomed in Ace's mind harder than an Orc's drums of war.
p'tink! p'tink!
"You leave him alone, y-you... poopie angry man!"
Small pebbles, an annoyance at best, bounced off the dooming armor. Tsoth turned to see the young girl -- no older than eight or nine years -- in Orphan Alex throwing the biggest pebbles she could muster. A deep, dark chuckle filled the air as more blackened steam plumed from the slits of the helmet like an old Harley exhaust pipe. And just then... the final great warriors of Cobble surrounded the monster.
Gimmi D'Alebringer, the Dwarf barkeep with his trusty hammer.
Lady Estelle, Baroness of the Western Sector of Kingsland.

Grog Strongjaw, not of this plane, but a great ace in the hole.
And finally... FINALLY... Cobble could find some semblance of peace. Though battered. Though beaten. Though broken in many ways, they prevailed. The city of Cobble -- though certainly never to be the same again -- destroyed the beast known as Lord Tsoth, the Death Knight. They extinguished Explictica Defilus and ended the return of the reptile God. They annihilated Xanesha and her ragtag motley crew known to some as the Runelords.
Cobble lived.
Cobble won.

Really glad EP rolled DV so it didn't necessitate the "Book then No Lynch" strategy. Though as you will see, the dead thread were shutting ourselves that ML was going to steal his vote and win.

It made me very angry and duckie/Jingle can atest to that since they were at the listening end of rants where I was babyraging and triggered.

sorry if it felt i was trying to pick a fight with your playstyle. in retrospect i just don't think the weight of flavour/mechanics in this game gelled with my vibe at all -- you are truly an exceptionally pleasant dude. thanks for handling that phase (and afaict, the entire game) with such grace.

I'd highly recommend it! There's a new starter kit on Amazon called the "Essentials Kit." You can get it for like $20 Canadian + it comes with everything you'll need to try DnD!
It sounds a bit complicated at first, but the game is actually super easy to play! It's even easier to pick up if you know anyone who plays already + can show you the ropes.
