Why did I get some of my packages back?

Edited my previous post just now. You got them back when people used them which the first two people did not so they died with the packages.

On to the game commentary..

I am never doing a no-reveal again! This game was fun, but when it dragged..it
dragged
. I don't blame some of you for losing interest in the game as no reveal can be less stimulating. I was really surprised that almost every player EXCEPT for scum had to get replaced. That should change up the meta a bit. What'd you guys all think of the game?

I think the mafia were partially responsible for the dragging. We got LUCKY.

We eliminated every single possible thing that would give the town information.

*2 packages died with their recipients.
*BSG was investigated the night he was killed
*Rhinox was killed before he could provide a useful investigation
*Phily was lynched before he could jail someone useful (I took a gamble and made myself the killer N2! Phew!)
*Looker wasted the death reveal

And Roffman got lynched D1, which changed the game ENTIRELY. It would have been a completely different game had he lived.

I liked the communiqué concept.

I was surprised when the game kept going after Looker got lynched. It's also rare for me to get NK'd—I'm often too scummy to be killed by the Mafia.

Very well played Casey. The game looked very frustrating but it was interesting to read. With my fake communique day 1 I was hoping scum would run with it to lynch two targets day 1, also allowing me to kill one scum during the night. Obviously, it backfired :(.

stands up.

*applauds*

Can't believe you guys broke the codex - I tried so hard to make sure I never repeated a number in a message. So, lemme get this straight. You knew what 1-9 was because you correctly guessed the first 2 words, and you figured out that the largest number was a k and part of "skitzer", and allowed you to fill in the numbers for codeword: asterisk... *facepalm*

Juls played great this game. I was a little worried after I was nked that Juls was playing me, but she was so damn convincing about it. :P Good job nailing budja. After you pointed it out to me, it was painfully obvious.

Obviously, I feel like a failure in my role as cop... I replaced in at night, and rushed my investigation choice due to the deadline. It was a horrible choice.

Almost. You guys gave away both "Rhinox here" and "Codeword: Asterisk"

Juls called it the "asterisk message" and told you to start your third paragraph with the second word in your communique, which I saw was "here." So what else could go before that? "I'm here?" "Rhinox here?" "[rolename] here?"

The word ASTERISK shares a lot of letters with SKITZER. :)

Juls played great this game.
It's like being at the 18th hole with a one-shot lead and slicing into the rough. I hate golf but it was the first analogy that comes to mind!

Well done Casey!

I knew roffman was the SK day 1, thats why I pushed so hard for his lynch. I was sure he would target me.

I posted a general message to Casey day 1 in case it was intercepted.

I was hoping the two 'factions', Ecto vs Juls would form with Casey on Ecto's side and me on Juls'. I never thought you would get so much trust from the town Juls. Well played.
Although you would have had a much better chance of lynching me more easily if you have created more of a case on me. My attack on flameaxe was probably the worst thing I did :P.

hehe nice analogy... I just went golfing last night - I slice into the rough a lot! Most frustrating game ever...

As a general note on the game, I like the communique aspect, and it even works with the no reveal, but not if communiques could be intercepted by scum. Its too punishing to the town, IMO. Either all communiques should be 100% secure, or the game should have death reveals so that the town is not entirely dependant on sharing known information through communique. Maybe if all players are told that communiques may be intercepted by the opposite faction it would be better. That way, even if there aren't any intercepting roles, the town will still be more careful about what they share in the messages.

By the way, Casey/Budja: did you guys manage to break any of the other codexes, or just mine and Juls?

All in all though, it was a fun game, I'm glad I replaced in, and I don't think the game really dragged too much. I'd play a similar game again.

good game all. i kind of got lost after a while, but i really never had a talkative partner. i think had jahudo been in from the start we may have proven more useful.

dahill. i didn't mind the no reveal, but it would have certainly been nice to be able to get a few reveals somewhere along the way. also, id didn't like not being able to confirm my partner, i think that may have hindered discussion in the mason thread.

casey: well done.

Man oh man, what a game. Casey you did a great job supporting Juls from the beginning and your communique idea had me sure you were obv town. Hence why I told you my role. Was hoping if I told Juls next day that if I turned up dead Casey would know what to do. Oh well >_>

I think confirmed masons would have left too many confirmed innocents in the town.

@Rhinox: In retrospect, yeah I should have given Budja probably only one interception. However, he probably used them at the best possible times to set up 2 consecutive mislynches

Question: Juls, if I'd voted for Casey instead of you, would youy still have voted for me? I'm pretty convinced it was all over once the final day was started, since I was sure that Casey would vote for me if she was town or scum and Juls would probably side with Casey over me, mostly because of my lack of communication through communiques and codexes and such.

Congrats to Casey, though. The post where you made your case against me on the last day was really masterfully done, since without that there's no way I would have had the nerve to vote for Juls. It was really cleverly worded to emphasize just how much power the town gave Juls and how much more likely it was that Juls was scum than you guys having all that information to hand.

I was leaning toward you before her post. It was a really good post, I agree. I wish I had stuck to my guns when she scum slipped with her we win because we have 50% comment. I almost voted her then. I really thought your role made the most sense but you targetted me every night and there was no confirmation of you. Casey did an excellent job playing dumb townie when behind the scenes she was schemeing like crazy. I think she did an excellent job (and will get a scummy nomination when I get a chance to write one).

If I have saved my power to read all communiques to day 2, that would have been very bad for the town. My inteceptions didn't help me at all :P.

@Rhinox, your code was the only one with could be broken through your hints and plenty of messages. If it wasn't for Skitzer's name, I couldn't have cracked it.

I didn't whole-heartedly believe Rhinox until his death based on Ectomancer's play so I didn't reveal too much to him...not that it mattered.

There was no slip-up there.

Juls-Coug-Casey-Don = Town in my head

Izzy-Budja-Looker = Unknown in my head

What I was trying to say was that "confirmed town" was the majority, and all we had to do was lynch the unknowns to win.

Oh, and another final note: The D1 communuique chain. It was sheer coincidence that the names Budja and Casey were in alphabetical order, so I chose to line up the communique chain in alphabetical order just in case Budja sent a communique to Roffman.

---

I learned an important lesson in this game, however: The only way to successfully lie is to believe your lie.

I believed I was a townie Hider, all the way to the end.

Ah I see this is over. Good job side that won. I actually didn't read any of it so I don't mind that I got killed before I had a chance to post.
