I admit I was much more impressed with your play in Star Wars. This game was almost like cake. I am also not sure how digi did not win.

@RC: Check the win conditions. We just had to be 50% of the town. We were 50% of the town. Why should the game be ongoing?

It was a lot harder in this game, as I was replacing into an incredibly scummy looking slot. In Star Wars I was replacing into VRK, who hadn't made very many posts, so I didn't have any baggage. Also Anon was all over me, I'm pretty sure he had the slot pegged as scum very early on, and he forced a pretty big scum slip out of me. You should see me in the scum QT, I was really wigged out that I made such a huge blunder. The only reason I even had to make that post was because of all the pressure I was getting from Anon. I'm still simply amazed that I wasn't insta-lynched D3. I think my play this game is actually better than SW, considering the hole I dug myself into and then getting out of it. The fact that I survived is just unreal.

Our win condition was to be 50% of the town, which we were. What was bs? You could have won from that position, but we'd fulfilled our win condition.

I'm not saying I wasn't slightly OP, but I'm saying that having a 50% wincon for scum with third-party roles existing is BS especially due to the fact that I could have easily brought it to a draw or win, as I can both kill AND RB the same night. All I needed to do was survive tomorrow and it would be a sole survivor win pretty much guaranteed.

Reading this game, all I get it out of it is how amazingly horrible I am at playing scum. LMP claims scum in thread and can't even get lynched , but I can't talk my way out of a case based on no good reasons

It was a fun game to follow along with, but I couldn't get past LMP not getting lynched. I don't feel the town was underpowered, but I do feel the town didn't play that well, to put it nicely. I don't think I played well either, and LMP should have been lynched as well. Digi's role seemed like an sk on steroids. I've never seen an sk with a 1-shot daykill, so that pretty much ruled him out of even being suspected. Not sure about the endgame though... maybe the predetermined tiebreaker was to balance out the sk power?

Read it carefully. The tiebreaker was NOT predetermined... it was determined at the start of Day 4.

Lame that Mafuyu had to be directed to the kill though. If Mafuyu wasn't, we (I certainly wouldn't) might not have lynched her. But that's the way the cookie crumbles, I guess.

And lol now that I think about it, most of SF's defense seemed like he was saying if LMP is town he's town, but I thought LMP was town and he was scum, and it turned out the opposite of what I thought (LMP scum, SF town). Straaaaaange.

I am also still very uneasy that LMP is a claimed cop with NO provable results (which is the oldest trick in the book for scum).

It sucks that you had a bunch of bad players on town. I'm as amazed as you that they all completely forgot the scumslip. But don't rob me by saying I didn't "deserve" the win. I worked my butt off after that scumslip to win this game.

Digi I have to ask - why in the hell did you try to kill Kage when he had all but said he was going to be protected? A kill on Faraday or the Cop would have made much more sense. After all the good fortune you had in killing Time Travellers that one decision cost you the game.

Congratulations to the Mafia. You did a good job minimizing the mistakes / scumminess of early members (Tasky / Wolf and LMP's slip) and making good kills. Leaving the Town players you did, regardless of their power, made your job easier.

Town was pretty much doomed by making set-up assumptions. Let this be a lesson to everyone - 'Confirmed ability / role does not mean confirmed alignment'. The fact that LMP and his predecessors never produced a non-Town result and yet lived the entire game should have been a sign that something was up.

Ooba I love your games. Your flavor is top-notch and despite some mis-givings about the set-up your games are fairly unique and entertaining. Two comments -

1. The delayed opening of thread after Night is something I have seen in both games I played in with you and I think it hurts the overall game IMO. I understand schedules can be problematic but it has been a recurring issue. If you are overloaded between GMing and playing I would suggest lowering your play schedule while GMing.
2. I think the Mafia win condition was poorly written in the context of the Serial Killer and his powers. While I think it was probable that they would have won anyway his intact BP and roleblock meant that the remaining Town player could have stalemated the next day's lynch and Digi likely could have been the last man standing. In the future the "50% and nothing can change that" win condition that is becoming standard would be a better way to go.

Overall it was an enjoyable game to read. As usual I wish I could have played longer.

Aye. That was a big mistake I made. I usually don't say confirmed ability is confirmed alignment (see RC and SF), but I did so with the cop. He could have done practically anything from D4 on and I probably wouldn't have suspected him. Live and learn, I guess.

I wasn't so suspicious of the no results as I usually am though. I don't really know why. I mean, I figured his odds of getting a scum role weren't that high earlier on and he was blocked by RC the last time.

The Night 1 was the only one that was purely luck; N2 was 50/50... there was a crumb, but it wasn't a good one.
