The claiming is dumb, but not so bad. The wagoning/claiming has been muted thus far.
One day you'll become as good a townplayer as me (sarcasm)In post 1374, Wisdom wrote:has it or youre just scum and im being an idiot

and even if it wasn't, this is a pretty surface-level read
because it's an easy way to get the game started generally. In post 1262, Enter wrote:@Ausuka, why do we have RVS? Why don't we typically use RQS, for example?
Except most people don't think like this and you know it? I also think you're wrong because there's not really actual lynch threatening going on in RVS and selfvoting can lead to discussion but that's not really relevant so. People mess around in RVS, not everything is for the sake of generating content alone. In post 1267, Enter wrote:I'll tell you what reactions you get from a self-vote:
"why did you self-vote" (that's NAI)
"I don't like it when people self-vote" (also NAI)
"I'm glad they self-voted" (NAI)
Here's what stances you show on other people when you self vote:
None. Because you don't respond to anyone, you don't show willingness to vote anyone, you don't jump on a wagon that already has five people on it
Let's compare that to voting someone else:
There were five votes on GE this game, that's particularly interesting:
ofrhz votes someone on the GE wagon: this might be a legit serious stance
Possible reactions:
"do you not like the ge wagon, ofrhz?"
"what did that specific player do that the others didn't do?"
One of those players flips down the line and now all of a sudden it's a little easier to see why ofrhz might vote them in RVS - to get some possible distance in (weak, sure, but better than nothing)
Mafia is a game of reading people.
You read people by getting them to react to things
One good way to get people to interact with things is to threaten to lynch them if they don't
One good way to threaten to lynch people is to vote them
This is why we have RVS
In RVS no one has any reads on anyone
So we begin threatening to lynch everyone
We put our votes everywhere
We see what stances people are willing to take
We see how people are trying to play the game
Who has an agenda - people tehy dont necessarily want lynched no matter what
Who has no agenda - willing to look at anyone and definitely trying to figure out what's going on
By self-voting, you refuse all town motivations in RVS
It's a sign that you already know who's who and what's what, because there is no confusion, no need to push elsewhere to garnish reads

Enter you're the only one spewing nonsense here. This isn't really about rvs at all; it's about how you're claiming selfvoting in rvs is a bad play and are saying ofhrz is scum for making a bad play instead of, like, just town making a bad play.
