Honestly unsure I would have figured that one out, but your confirmed town status as a neighbor would have confirmed your death eventually more or less.

Might just be because my style usually tends to leave me alive in endgame but I think it's a lot better than doctor then

Protecting to stop a kill with the intent to stop a kill, will never save a kill, because you're overthinking it.

Think about it this way

Yes, the wifom game does get created
and the best way to play that as a doctor is to ask yourself some questions
Is the person I am currently protecting likely to be a threat to the scumteam?
Is the person I am currently protecting someone I want to be alive.

In AvP, I took the game out of MyLo w/ a successful protect.
Instead of protecting Conftown, who was rather useless and wasn't doing anything, I decided to protect duckie, who was doing things, had obvtowned himself, and was a threat.

I stopped the game and pulled the game out of MyLo

now granted we still lost, it was still a very close game.

I mean kudos for the good play, but that sounds like an extreme case scenario. Doctors often don't even get the opportunity to boost the town's game that much.

I also think it might be worth distinguishing between the power of a Doctor vs the power of their a Doctor.

i think if ur a doc, just keep your action simple
protect who you think is a threat to the scumteam as well as who you want to be alive during the next day phase

that'll take you a long long way and it took me 3 years to come to this realization

If conftown isn't doing anything, do they really deserve to be protected because they're conftown?

Who needs logic when you have intuition

even after 1 or 2 shots where you realized that the scumteam aren't interested in shooting the conftown?
