Need a newbie replacement for MikeD in Newbie 1214. Since I'm not sure who has already been listed, I'll take PMs. Also, may have more replacements later (in about 24 hours).

Thanks!

Sorry, read this little late.

Established players starting Alt accounts (an account different from their primary account, usually used as a means to play against their established meta) may not /in as a Newbie since they'd be taking a spot away from a true site Newbie. Additionally, since the Alt account itself doesn't qualify, you may not function as SEs or ICs under the Alt account either, even if the player behind the account does qualify for one of these positions.

The ONLY way in which a new Alt account (one with less than two finished games) may play in a Newbie game is to offer to replace into existing games. Once the account has a record of two finished games, you may then /in as an SE player as normal. Once the account has a record of 5 completed games and 3 months on-site, you may /in as an IC player after ListMod certification as normal. You may always use your primary account to function as an SE or IC, depending on qualification.

/Out as newbie.

Thanks for the awesome response! I've filled my needed slots, but will contact everyone who has already expressed interest in replacing if I need more.

I don't know, really, I'm bored. And I don't like memes at all, wasn't trying to use it, I just wrote the sentence wrong.

Oh. Ha.

There's a replacement thread if you want to jump right into a game.

Mkay, I thought that I had to play first a newbie game to do anything else. Sorry for the trouble.

No troubles man, you're fine. It's just recommended that you do that to get a feel for the site meta or if you've never played mafia before. You seem like you're really excited to get into these forums so that doesn't seem to apply to you.

You can still be /in for the next newbie but you don't have to start here. Good day.

Thanks chkflip for one of the funnier pictures I've seen in this site.
Does anyone have that series of pictures on [How To Post (in Mafiascum)]?
Cuz that was really gold.
It went something like this: Read! Write! Read Again! Delete Everything! Rewrite! Post!
I might be wrong with the stages, but you get the idea.

If someone has that post, plz post here again?

Sorry I didn't post this sooner, but I've decided to scrap Newbie 1211 even though Haylen was awesome and had a backup. PM me if you want to know who was scum or whatever.

Also,

/in as IC
/in to mod

Yeah?
Pretty sure people repeatedly quote that. And I have had authorized myself to 62 before the crash.

Where is my approval to start Newbie 1221? I never got a response and I have a player asking me what's going on.

Addressed.

You've replaced into a game, reaching your game limit. Feel free to /in again as soon as that one's completed.

iDanyboy wrote:I'm in for the next game.
Unfortunately we only allow newer players to play in one game before they can sign up for multiple games. Because you are playing elsewhere on the site, feel free to /in again as soon as that one's completed.

Roughly 3-5 days, but the list mods can get busy sometimes so it can take up to a week.
chkflip already addressed this, but I wanted to be more clear: I will not put games up just because we have enough players for one game. Sometimes players flake, don't pick up their PMs, decide they don't want to play, etc, so we allow mods to replace from the queue if this happens. I will typically keep at least one game's worth in the queue for this reason. Thank you for your understanding.

As of now, the queue is updated through this post. I will give mods of the recovered games 24 hours from this post to PM me if they're going to continue with their games, or they will be officially called and no longer eligible to be played again. That will mark the end of the catch-up, so there should be no more hiccups from here on out. I understand it's taken longer than expected, so thank you again for your patience and willingness to accommodate getting back into the swing of things.
