A quick note from reading: bob, that Vi article is very good. I was around when the ABR one was written, though, and it was very controversial. IIRC it was almost written to justify ABR's playstyle, which kept getting him lynched.

Ok guys, let's get started. In order to make this a good learning experience, and to avoid misapplying tells based on experience level (which I hate), I would like all of you to post the following:
1. How much mafia have you played on site? offsite?
2. How much mafia have you played in meatworld?
3. Have you read any onsite games for fun?
4. What is your favorite color?

I'll start:
I've been playing mafia for nearly 15 years, mostly in meatworld and mostly with children. I played some on mafiascum about five years ago and just recently returned. I read games that I am not in frequently and my favorite color is orange.

I am aware that Skelda and Ranawey have answered some of this already. Indulge me, if you don't mind.

I would like to see how 2Pac plays now that he has really toned down the gangster persona and has started to play. Since he stopped focusing on RPing or whatever he doing and started to help out more he seems to be looking townie and less scummy. We shall see what happens after he plays more normally for a while.

I am reading Noms actions as trying to push 2Pac to stop his routine and help the town more. I think that he should of tried to figure out other players instead of solely focusing on 2Pac.I also poked 2pac a little in order to try to get tone down his style . I cant judge Nom merely on this. I do think that Nom could of look at other players while he was sitting on 2Pac. I see this as being bad playing bc of frustration more than him being scummy. I can see Archies point and its something to take into consideration. For now I putting a IGMEOY on Nom.

On Archie- I dont see him acting like an IC as being scummy or townie, I think he was just trying to be helpful/ I do think that he does seem to push for easy wagons. I want to see what he has to say about this before I place a vote against him/ For now I also have an IGMEOY on Archie.


Ree- This guys scares me. At times it seems he uses his power as IC to influence votes and Im not sure about his reaction test. While I have nothing against reaction test I wonder if his tests are just a way to try to see if he can get an easy wagon on someone. I am still trying to figure out this guy and what his intentions are. He seems to go from acting reallly townie at times to acting pretty scummy. For now I am going to put a FOS on him

Onsite, I've played through one Newbie, I am currently playing in an Open, and this game. Offsite, I've played a fair amount, though it is much more casual than this site. I've also played a bit in real life.

2. How much mafia have you played in meatworld?
I have never played in meatworld.

3. Have you read any onsite games for fun?
A couple. I don't always finish them, though. Sometimes I get fed up with the poor play halfway through and just check the end to find out who the scum are. I did read quite a few before my first game here, however.

4. What is your favorite color?
Orange.

And I totally agree with you about Archie. I especially don't like him pushing early lynches and opportunistically jumping the IC's "confirmed scum" read, as well as posting a lot of theory that has little relevance to the game.

This is very true. The teaching bit is certainly null by itself, and should be expected from those of us who have played a bit. But in my opinion (which could certainly be wrong!) it appears that he is using it as an excuse to post without posting anything that will move the game forward.

Then, quickly, he switched his vote towards Nominull. But, the thing is that Nominull does not look scummy to me. He got annoyed by 2pac's sick rhymes, but hey, not everyone likes it. But, it's true I'll be glad to see his reads.
And archie just insists. Somehow, all of this makes me put my FoS on you @archie , and so, my vote.

And, Mr_Ree, I dislike your early push on me. I can believe it was a RT, or I can choose to think that is a cover for an actually intended lynch. You and archie were the first ones to start the wagon. And when Skelda mentioned the doubts he had about archie, you quickly defended him, saying that "if he was mafia, he would have pushed for a Satan early lynch". I can't buy that. Right now, I think you both are scum partners.

Warning Newbies! The following is a great example of "Do as I say, not as I do." Imitating this play in another game will get you lynched or vigged nearly every time. If I survive the night, I'll explain why. Otherwise, I'm certain Mr. Ree and Nom will be happy to explain why what I'm about to do is intensely stupid as soon as Safety unlocks the thread for tomorrow.

Bob is currently at L-1, meaning one more vote on his wagon will make him swing.

Normally, I'd caution you about ending the day early, and advise you that you should get the town's consent and make sure nobody has anything they want to say before casting the final vote. In this case however:

1. The posting rate seems to be flagging and I think a couple of flips will breathe some life into the game and
2. I'm confident that Bob flips scum here. Maybe that's arrogant, but I'm nothing if not arrogant.

In what universe have I been ICing in lieu of scumhunting? I made exactly one post of theory which I felt was needed, and which at least one of the newbs here found helpful. Everything else I've done has been actively voting and pressuring. I'm in a slow-moving game full of a lot of clueless people and I'm trying to make things happen. Do you actually take issue with any of my stances, or are you just belligerently and hilariously deluded?

Satan, think about what you're saying. If I was trying to get people lynched, why would I switch wagons as much as I have? I'm not seriously trying to get

lynched right now. Day 1's are usually at least 15 - 20 pages. I'm pressuring people, asking questions, getting reactions. Trying to generate information for the town. I do this in ALL my games, and fyi, it's what most experienced players do. It's expected from town. It's part of what you're supposed to learn how to do in a newbie game.

Look at my play. Do I look someone trying to smuggle a lynch through? Or do I look like someone trying push some buttons and figure out the answer to the riddle? I think I'm being way too loud for the first one.

@ Skelda - I have no idea why you're voting for me. I get that you think 2Pac is scummy. I don't. I think he's being stupid. Stupid =/= scum. Think about it; his username is 2Pac. Typically, in early Day 1 the play is to pressure people who aren't posting enough and aren't staking out positions, and then later in the Day you have a big debate about who is likely to be scum based on everything that has been posted. You don't lynch before at least page 12, after a long day of healthy and productive discussion. That way you have enough information to actually make an informed choice. You never lynch on page 7, and you

lynch before asking for a claim.
