↑A Simple Plan wrote:@Vedith: and you followed suit? Care to give a reason why, or are you just sheeping the guy whose ideas you disagree with for no reason?
Just because I don't agree with him doesn't mean I think scum.
I'd like to see how this pans out.

Davsto's 110 and 112 feel slighty white-knighty to me. First, he says that he dislikes the way Xtoxm went about conducting the massclaim and sticks to a scumlean. Then he distances himself from that by saying that he sees the votes on Xtoxm as an easy and scum-driven wagon.
So which is it, Davsto? Are the folks voting for Xtoxm scummy or is Xtoxm, himself, scummy?
And there we get a supposed davig on grapes from Knuckles. Why grapes over any others?

Both can be scummy at once.
The thing itself was scummy - yes - but not scummy enough for me to vote. The fact that people jumped on it and went "so scummy" reads as opportunism over genuine, to an extent.

Really? Are you sure you're not just playing the "Everyone is scum" card yourself? You've managed to call everyone involved scum.

Using myself as an example, is it opportunist of me to say that I think massclaim is a bad idea and then to follow through with a vote on the person who perpetrated the massclaim?

Mehhh
I'm kinda conflicted on it, but I'm unsure which side of the argument is scum. I can see him, as, town, potentially thinking that massclaim is a good idea. I can think that people, as town, think it's a bad idea and vote him for it.
But there's a potential scum side to each of those - that is, rolefishing and opportunism.
I don't think anyone is
really
scum for it (hence my lack of a vote), but I'm definitely not townreading anyone for it.
plus the one week deadline should be a nice change of pace
oh whoops I'm a horrible person

ASP has been useless but so has half the game. It's like people sign up with no interest in playing.

Standard for ASP. his inactivity is a null tell.
But if his inactivity is going to be more harmful to town than good then yeah we should lynch him.

Hi!
We're actually a day vig, we just need to use the phrase "bomb" specifically because we're Bomberman!
Metal Sonic wanted to ninjashoot Nosferatu which I think would be hilarious but don't think it's particularly healthy for gamestate, so we're gonna formulate stuff and then maybe take a shot, maybe save it for later. Probably save it for later.

I also think that it's probably best if we massclaim but will confirm/detract that when I've actually done some real reading; I think that because there's a vigilante claim that I don't think is scum, a weird whatever Nosferatu claimed, and a double day claim that this game is pretty weird but also that power will be decently spread out (I think this in the case in general with role madness games vs normal/less role madness games) and I'm also 90% sure that we will be able to kill at least one scum before night begins between my dayvig and doubleday. If you want to be a curmudgeon and not claim then but totally your choice.

What different reason is that? I'm not really supporting the read at this point in time.

Hi Starbuck!
↑Peptobislawl wrote:Gonna say that "hydras please sign" is a very common sentiment. Iv'e only been in like 6 games, but every hydra in them was asked to sign.
Massclaim seems like a bad idea, why would you suggest it this early?
And, if the world and a kind and just place, none of them did
↑Randomnamechange wrote:Bulletproof with some lynch abilities I won't reveal yet.
Lynch abilities as in abilities you can use to influence a lynch or abilities you can use if lynched?
↑Xtoxm wrote:I'm interested in thoughts on when he best time to use this ability would be.
Now. Greatest chance to tilt the town/scum ratio in favor of town before the night, also more fun.
How is this massclaim in any way useful for us? Except for, you know, letting scum know who the biggest threat is so they can be NKed.
Helps for reads, helps for coordination. Also helps scum figure out how to use their night actions, but if we can hit scum before we get to night we shouldn't worry about that too much.
Vigilante, but with a couple of surprises I'd rather keep away from scum's knowledge.
Also a town claim; seriously doubting that scum claim a killing power/are given a killing power if they don't have the ability to prove it and really don't see scum claiming something like this so easily.
also pretty town. guessing there's a scum role blocker somewhere, and guessing scum role blocker doesn't have a fake claim like this/this isn't a scum role.
Im yoshi, a roleblocker lightining rod. I choose someone at night and both roleblock them and make their visitors instead visit me.
Chose to claim after massclaim was derailed.
Town as shit.
↑Aj The Epic wrote:So now that we've gathered that this massclaim was a bad idea and that it has just killed off our activity, can we at least go after the guy who just fished out half the roles for scum?
Sure!
Quote one game where a player whose MO wasn't asking for massclaims regardless of alignment managed to out a bunch of claims and then dominated as scum.
tell me what game relevant content they've put into the thread.
Hmmph.

TOWN:
Dong (love the name)
Pepto
RandomMidget
Xtoxm
Davsto
Starbuck (?) (been a while)
@AJ: Your suspicion and play so far is completely surface-level; I tend to view you as a bit of a deeper thinker than that, though. Have any reads that might excite me a little more? Also don't really think it's the request for massclaim that made the thread inactive, it was no one commenting on reads from it. Don't you have anything deeper than "xtoxm is trying to out roles, is scum"?
@SoS: Bit disconcerted to see ffery do nothing with the wealth of information released via mass claim, and a bit disconcerted to see GiF voting a hydra with me in it when FF7 just ended. I like your read on Xtoxm though!
@ASP: You voted random midget because his bulletproof claim seemed super scummy without accompanying flavor; you said you were against massclaim because it "broke the game", which seemed to imply you were pretty confident random midget was scum. Why did you unvote?
↑Vedith wrote:UNVOTE: Pept
However, you seem quiet. Any reason that your not really posting like other games with you in?
