Urgh, when did Gunsmiths stop getting guiltiest on Bodyguards.
However, more cruicially: Bodyguards are not Redirectors. They protect from a kill they don't redirect it.

Does it get resolved end of phase or as soon as I receive a PM from neighborizer?

That could work.
Neighbouriser resolves at end of night, but replacing it with two masons could work.
Bulletproof ought not be told. I think that's the only normal way of doing it, although the Wiki does not specify.
