Can we have an ongoing PM discussing how we read players as a general matter, not specific to any game? I feel like that should be a thing.

I mean I was once banned for
1) having a discussion with a player on skype before a game
and
2) referencing said discussion

so i'm pretty sure that wouldn't go over well

i also think it is against the spirit of the rules ftr, as is like being in an ongoing game with someone and asking other people who are good at reading them how to read them

I'm somewhat townreading RC for engaging Shoshin in this way/Shoshin suggesting she townreads RC (she's better at reading him than me)

like if someone was in a game with NSG or Titus and asked me for pointers on how to read them I'd consider that pretty outside the spirit of the game

Us actually being in the same game definitely doesn't make that any better, plus our conversation also either has 1) manipulation outside of game thread or 2) the ability to pseudo-red text facts

I don't think it's against the spirit of the game to discuss past games with players you enjoy discussing the game with. Like, if we discussed Labyrinth and I told you I had a really good way to read Wisdom or Math or whatever and we exchanged ideas about that, what's the problem? I get that it's bad to talk about ongoing games but talking about past ones should be encouraged imo.

Talking about them, yes. Talking about them to get help with an ongoing game, no. Idk there's definitely a line here somewhere and I'm not quite sure where it is and would prefer to stay on the safe side of it

Like I'm not in any games with wisdom so if we talked about how you read wisdom that'd definitely be fine

but does that mean I wouldn't scumread you? Like your logic basically assumes that I know that you're town and would potentially be scum pushing on you but wouldn't because I wouldn't be able to, not that I couldn't be town misreading you.

I don't think the line should be "don't discuss anyone you're in a game with." Like, let's say I'm in two games with NSG. One of them ends. Can I then discuss my thoughts on reading NSG with other players in the endgame? Or do I have to wait until I finish the other game? The line should be not to discuss ongoing games or behaviors in ongoing with anyone. But past games or general tendencies based on past games? Why not? Just seems like an unworkable and absurd line to draw. But whatever, let's stop discussing this here.

I also don't think you've seen enough of how I play as scum to have a scumread that rises beyond mere speculation or irrational paranoia.

Particularly given NSG is in this game and my read on her is precisely 'yeah she will do something that will hard vibe town for me and if she doesn't I powerlynch her'
