In TAZ mafia, SirCakez's first couple posts were sort of laidback ("following along" were his words there) so I don't think it's scummy for him to start this game with more casual posting. I read him as a player that doesn't get intensely analytical until a bit later in the game.

As for his actual posting here, it's townish for him. His posts tend to look better as scum than town, plus I liked the way he jumped onto Fire (don't think scum SirCakez makes that obviously bad vote) and the way he's reading Spiff (feels town to me for a wagoned player to try sorting players based on who's voting them and who's not).

scum who's self-consciously trying to appear town??? I don't necessarily think things like 119 and 123 are scum posts, but I don't feel at all confident calling them town posts

p-edit: I haven't bothered reading any of the other fortnight games, but that's a clever strategy, and I don't think scum would bring that up.

i think posts for the sake of posting are scummy, especially when it comes from someone who ordinarily doesnt really make posts like that as town.
and i also want to clarify that theres a definite difference between jokeposts, conversational posts and then posts that are just.. there and thats it. to me it just reads like the person wanted to post to have posts that are in the game, possibly because they feel uncomfortable with their posting earlygame/uncomfortable with their posts in general.

i understand the reference point for the scumgame is old but the towngames still read more or less the same way at around that time too.
the jokeposts are way less pointless and it ramps up so fucking hard from that to him actually trying to gamesolve.
like.
so fast.
and look at the reasoning hes giving.
like, someone who is capable of deriving that kind of reasoning for someone being scum that early is not going to react to this game the way he is here.
cake would find something to be poking at by now.
instead hes just sitting on a reasonless easy CES vote, asking me questions, instead of him.

the difference between him and firebringer and spiff joking around is that its pretty par for the course for my expectations of them.
whereas given what ive seen from towncake comparatively on a dive really just doesnt match here at all. it seriously reads as night and day and i rarely get that level of confidence off of tone.

his reaction to being pressured is mostly just why me fry me, where i think i would feel more genuine oomph behind his annoyance if he were town.
like, this reads so much like "this is unfair!!!" rather than "youre wrong!!!" and that distinction feels meaningful to me?

theres also that when ive been pressured as scum, ill typically try to focus on the semantics and fret over the person scumreading me because it seems like its content and i feel like thats what cake is doing here.

even beyond the fretting over my push; nothing cake's done, [including the really weak/easy vote on ces without anything in terms of pressure or questioning to suggest he actually cares about what ces's alignment is], has really struck me as someone who really cares about who is or isnt scum [and like ive already said i really think towncake cares about that in general, even at page 7]

honestly maybe a better way of phrasing it is that i think that the jokeposts read way more as forced as a way for him to cope with the earlygame when theres not as much obvious content for him to jump on.
