I will say though I'm scumleaning gyro/fish/mario. Out of the 3, I'd even say it's possible 2 of them are scum. Voting teacher like that makes zero sense whatsoever. Could it be you guys are making a wagon and just hoping we'll jump on it? -.-

You’ve had two deader than average newb queue games. 1958, which I was modding at the same time as 1959, is more typical (you can trust me on this, I’ve played or modded like a third of the newb queue games since my arrival). 1951 is another “good” example.

Personally I like it best in this queue - it tends to be a little more tryhardy and explanatory, which appeals to my logical approach. After the game I will suggest some other queues or players to follow around - I join in other queues when I like the player list enough, but they can often get to the point where trying to reread a game in lylo is not manageable, and rely too much on “isn’t that scummy” without discussion.

Since you mentioned skimming other games, keep track of the players you like/want to play with. Then periodically stalk them - click into their member page, search their posts, and see if they have /in’ed Into a game that looks interesting.
