My PM said something similar, as did Mehdi. That part cracked my up

Thanks for running, Monkey!!!

Monkey was accurate since I was expecting investigative from the start (I'd have alo loved oracle since set up stuff is something I love too). I was undecided on alignment since I saw ways for me to work well as either (particularly saying I prefer being scum over town in the past).

i think some of the PMs are hysterical because you will be like "You like dragons, SO your the town doctor" I do not get the logic between the first part and the role half the time. I think you needed one more sentence explaining where the role came from on a lot of them.

Yeah I could have probably been a bit more descriptive in a couple PMs. I probably thought it was self evident when it wasn't.

Yeah, I got mine mainly because of n00b mafia games. (GO RQS!) But others probably could have been explained better (as well as making sure all game mechanics were out in the open.)

I think if you did it again:
*Take a little more time to read in depth meta. You had the roles/set-up done VERY quickly. I think a bit more indepth meta research could have got something better for say Maenara - that was a bit tenous to say the least. Something like usurper (for the way she called out mehdi in mafiastuck) would be more "fitting" off the top of my head. Just take a little more time - and brainstorm a few possible roles for everyone and give yourself a few days to decide.
*Make sure the set-up has no bad role combinations. Watcher/Jailer/Lightning rod works super nasty with each other. (it also feels like a lot of the scum had little to claim)
*Make it clearer alignments were randomised? It wasn't clear I don't think.

That's because according to the signup page he explicitly stated they were not lol

Your advise is well taken. I didn't want to give too much info on the setup. In the signup page I said "roles and alignment were indicative of playstyle". Post count was a consideration in scumteam in addition to randomization, so this was a true statement. I didn't want to give too much info on the game setup.

I mean there's nothing wrong with random alignments here anyway. But yeah, just make things a bit clearer. The actual concept is a cool idea.

Next time I did it I would probably do a smaller game(maybe 16 or 17 players) so it would require less work, and would not allow people who played in this game to play, since it would be harder to find a new role for someone who already had a role.
