You're adding in the word 'genuine' yourself. Functionally all he said was 'you appear to be willing to do anything to get anyone you have expressed suspicion on lynched'. He then immediately followed that commenting with asking why you targeted a claimed lesser scum read rather than a larger scumread. He was suggesting you were being fake, now maybe he thought you were genuine town who was fakeclaiming, but, again, maybe he thought you were un-genuine scum who was fakeclaiming. I personally can't say which it was, though maybe there are some clues within his commentary as regards you in other posts around that one, but I do think you're over working the tell when expressing why you think it's a scumtell as opposed to a scumhunting (or, faked scumhunting, if you wish) tell.

These are the posts where you vote Aj and suggest that he is scum. No reason is given until 1402, where you seem to be saying that you suspect Aj because he hasn't done anything town. So now that we know he was inactive because of RL stuff, why do you still read that slot as scum?

anything other than AJ replaced out for what I assume are RL reasons. That tells me nothing about the reason for his inactivity earlier in the game. Moreover, I see no reason to wait this long if RL has been preventing activity since the start of the game. Finally, one can be generally inactive and yet still post constructively, which AJ has not done.

I suppose this is consistent with your stance on Aj, not that it was ever particularly clear though.

the second part of the post calls my claim into question, but he approaches it from an "antihero is fakeclaiming a guilty as town", not that i'm fakeclaiming scum 1v1ing a claimed town PR. i don't have a meta of doing this, so that's a really weird way of approaching the claims. it's like he already knows the alignments.

Is he saying you are fakeclaiming as town though? I didn't get that at all from reading that post, and I had to read it twice to see where he could have implied that. If there's anything wrong with that post, it's more that he's trying to play both sides (attacking SMP, but also casting doubt on you), maybe in case there's an opportunity to turn the SMP wagon around.

How do you play as scum and how does it differ from your town game?

i'm not talking about anything to do with play so this is easy

i'm talking about the methodical approach i take to playing scum re: roles, which is why D2 would never have played out the way it did if i were scum

1420 covers most of the reasons, but from my pov, i probably would have either read the game N1 and given advice to scum-buddy-who-was-almost-certainly-going-to-be-pressured or asked for a brief summary on the game and then also given advice to scum-buddy-who-was-almost-certainly-going-to-be-pressured, and the obvious advice i woulda given woulda been like "investigate someone you would as town and DON'T FUCKING LIE ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ROLEBLOCKED BECAUSE THAT'S PROB NOT A GOOD IDEA, YO!"

or i woulda told him about how i love bussing and will take any opportunity i see to bus the fuck out of him

i dunno. there's a lot of things about the way D2 played out that make me fairly obvtown to anyone paying attention

I think the person attacking me is probably town and is therefore simply misguided as opposed to lying - it is then super helpy funtimes to, y'know, talk him through it instead of just screaming at him that he's lying and/or totally ignoring him as he focuses on lynching a town player.

@Muffin - Mostly what I get from that is "I would have read the game or lied about reading the game" the other stuff...I'm not sure how that's supposed to translate as something anyone without access to a scum QT could assess whether it happened or not.

the thing that i'm hating in this thread is Mac's snipe-ish tone. i feel like he's kind of throwing suspicion on HKC and stirring the pot with jake without really saying anything to advance the game.

As bad as I could spin on Mac is that he feels a little distanced from the game. I'm not sure I'd call that much of a scum case though. Is he normally a decisive and forceful personality? Because unless the answer is 'es' I'm not sure I get the issue. I'll also admit I usually expect town/town in neighbor pairs.

1) Chainsaw defense in posts 280 and 340. You mention SMP as a "concern" in post 582, but that unsurprisingly leads nowhere. You mention also that Jake's case is legit enough to make you think of SMP scum, but this also goes nowhere. Then you go back to voting HS, who had been tunneling SMP. You express your belief that SMP is more likely scum than Anti, but this goes nowhere. You do not post again for 5-6 days because, according to you, your V/LA.

2) I found the explanation you offered after revoting HS totally uncompelling, especially since the tunnel and naked vote accusations could be leveled with equal validity against many other players.

that is the gist of it. i mean, sometimes i read as town, sometimes i ignore large portions of a game because i don't need to read them. but as scum? no. even when i'm being lazy scum i read the game and let it show in my posts.
