I feel there's two possibilities, mostly:

1) he was killed as a bit of a random kill for WIFOM or maybe "well he can be a PR maybe". Mostly random

2) He was killed because all other vocal players had reasons to be left alive

There's gotta be at least one scum in [Zantetsu, Fire, Nero, Alch]

It could be a LAMIST attempt but I feel Fire is the kind to mercy kill people, therefore the reason he wouldn't kill Zantetsu here in my opinion is if he's traitor and has no word on NK, or if he's partners with Zantetsu. I could see him mercy killing Luna but I feel it would be more unlikely for him to talk about NK'ing Zant here if he could choose it himself.

Therefore for me, at the moment, Fire is redudant out of that pool.

Therefore, I would say at least one in [Alch, Zantetsu, Nero]

That Elements night kill doesn't glue together for me in a team where everyone was getting roasted fairly

I feel maybe most vocal voices either had wrong reads or were defending scum for that night kill to happen.

I think the mason(s) need to claim today. Because if this goes to LYLO tomorrow, and they haven't claimed yet, then this gives scum an opportunity to counter claim the mason claim in LYLO, which would be bad because it gives scum an option that might be better for them than not having that option.

Similarly, if we get a scum to L-1 today, then they can claim mason which then gives them a possible out.

Mason(s) need to claim now. Unless there is some aspect to this that I haven't thought of. In which case please enlighten me.

Actually I agree with that. That is a good point, although I worry that scum crumbed mason also knowing that they might want to counter claim.

I don't buy that there was [Alch, Nero, Zantetsu], all strongly town read in Day 1, and they go to kill Elems.

I don't sense anyone other than Fire/Saudade doing that and...it doesn't feels right.

They also started off killing Luna by the people in the consensus "town block", one of the most suspected slots out of it.

It doesn't feel right.

scum!popop would have killed town!nero here already if he was really scum without being partners, I feel.

I feel the night kill believable targets in N1 were [Luna, Churros, Alch, Nero, Zantetsu]. Maybe Fire but that's more of a "if" given that he was suspected a bit.

Why not kill Luna? She is already confirmed town. They didn't seem to have urgency/much benefit on killing her if that's the case.

Why not kill me? I had my eyes a bit set on Norwe/Profi, and I was defending Alch. I was pretty town read as well, I feel.

Why not kill Alch? He was mostly town read in D1, but he was set on Peter, which was a mislynch now we know.

Why not kill Nero? He was set on popop and town read by everyone.

Why not kill Zantetsu? He was slightly town read in day 1. Not a bad kill although I don't see special reason to kill him I guess?

above, those were the most vocal/trusted players in D1. Why they weren't NK'd instead of...Elems is a big question.

It may be egocentric of me as well but I feel if my reads were slightly decent, Zantetsu would probably suggest killing me instead of a random elems kill if he was scum.

He probably has the wrong impression of my town game and would probably overstimate my ability unless I was being pro-scum, which means if Zantetsu is scum, either Alch or Popop is a partner. I feel you can really trust this argument?

I think it's almost impossible to out from under a mountain of WIFOM when trying to figure out the Elements kill, but if there was any explanation that made sense, I think it is what you said: Elements was killed because scum had no highly preferred target and Elements request for a vig to kill Peter suggested he might be a vig trying to pretend he wasn't.

I feel that if it was Popop/Zantetsu, or scum!Popop with both [Nero/Alch] town, they probably kill Nero here rather than Luna, which was suspected a bit.

I feel there's a very low chance we lose here by lynching [Nero/Alch]...
