Also, can players not complain about the game being 650+ pages? If they didn't get a read yet, it's because they're being lazy or scum. You don't need to read every page to get a read.

Yeah you don't need to read everything but you still need to have some sort of grasp of the current game state and semblance of reads on the players. Can't do that if you're not able to keep up somewhat and don't have the energy to even skim.
