Looks cool, gorckat. But if it's cult-mechanism (zombie bites), you may want to make it larger than a mini.

Cybele: Very ambitious, especially for that size, and it'll be a hard game to balance properly, but it could turn out very cool. If you still like the idea when you're ready to moderate it 9after two other successful games), I'd say go for it.

No cult- just a zombie backdrop with unusual roles

Perhaps instead of lynches, its "throw the victim off the roof into the zombies milling about below" :P

So...after the necessary modding requirements(stupid queues being slow...), I'm going to be running a trilogy of games based off the numerous planes of Magic the Gathering. All the roles will be based off creatures(and maybe the occasional artifact) in the sets in question.

The first one, Steel & Serum, is based off the Mirrodin plane. In this game, each player has a certain amount of Blinkmoth Serum. Blinkmoth Serum is a drug that, once taken, increases the user's mental and physical capacity well beyond it's normal limits. However, it has a side-effect: once you taste some, you must have more, or you will die. As such, a little resource management is brought to mafia. Do you use the serum, giving you unimaginable abilities, at the risk of dying later due to serum withdrawal? Or do you play it safe and hold onto your serum, giving it to the highest bidder. Additionally, all beings on Mirrodin are either flesh, or metal. A sword might not kill a metal adversary, but metal has it's weaknesses, too...

@Natirasha

If you could tweak that out properly, that game would be very fun. I would definitly play a Magic themed game. Also, would you create different power roles based on characters from the book?

Slobad, Goblin Planeswalker!! XD

(Dibs on Vektro! :P)

I think that if your gonna give Slobad a planeswalker type ability, you should only give it to him if he lasts to endgame.

Also, the goal of the game should be to lynch Memnarch.

Most of the characters that appear in the book will appear, but every role will have a creature or planeswalker card attached to it.
(Hypothetical)For example, Yert's card might be Mephidross Vampire[/hypothetical]

I think that you should put a certain level of succession of powers for the characters. Throughout the books, certain characters gain or lose powers or undergo some other drastic changes. I think that you should incorporate this into the game by at certain turns, that charcter will either gain/lose a power or undergo a change in character of some sort.

Another fun aspect might be to somehow include the three Kaldra artifacts.

The design file is, actually, almost done. I guarentee you will not be disappointed.

By the way, the second game will be Biplane mafia. I won't say any more for now.

Well I see Stewie was trying to see if anyone was interested in Family Guy mafia and no one said much. Does anyone know if he ever successfully did the Fox TV show mafia?

Biplane mafia? As in mulitple arcs within one game? A Kamigawa game would be awesome.

A Kamigawa game would be awesome.
So long as its better then the one on MTGS. All the roles were rare legends from CoK and BoK with Spirits as scum and no safe claims.

I would never do a Kamigawa game, that block was so bad I quit Magic for a while.

Here's the itinerary for my trilogy.
Serum & Steel-12p(Based on Mirrodin)
Biplane-20p(Based on Lorwyn/Shadowmoor)
The Pretender-??p(Based on The Dark)

Hello! :D

Don't know if somebody else has claimed it, but I'd like to try a Warhammer 40K Mafia. I know I need to get a few games under my belt (haven't gotten to play one yet!) but the 40K universe sounds like it could be easily ported to mafia.

EX: Two mafia families= Inquisitor (Cop, can investigate or kill at night, not both), Space Marine (kill only) and Imperial Guardsman (kill only) vs Daemon (can infect psykers, making a psyker townie a member of the mafia), Chaos Marine (kill), and Mutated Heretic (kill). Throw in a Medicae (doctor), a Dark Eldar Pirate (Serial Killer), a few psykers (vague investigate with a failure chance, also chance of burnout (death) when attempting to investigate), and of course, the vanilla townie.

So... what'cha think? :D

@Natirasha
I have to disagree. I think that Kamigawa was very fun, just a little confusing.

Also, I'm not familiar with those other arcs. I have been on a magic hiatus for a couple years now.

Maybe a Ravnica?

@rickvoid
Sounds interesting. Granted, I have never played 40k myself, but I have always been interested in the game style and having to paint figure yourself.

4th edition DnD sucks

3.5 DnD is better, and so is GURPS

I hope you don't mean 'vanilla townie' singular. It's a good theme (been done before, but that universe offers possibilities of very different games) but AT LEAST HALF YOUR TOWN NEEDS TO BE VANILLA!

This is false. There needs to be enough vanilla that scum can feel safe claiming it. That usually means at least 2-3. Half vanilla seems a bit extreme to me.

would anyone want to play in a disturbing & unusual large theme game based off of something unimaginally horrific?

no. 2-3 is way low for a 12 player game. do you want pie to be right?

Your

As I said before, I wouldn't mind playing in another one. Sparky for the win.

That's why it gets designed so that massclaim still won't win the game. Improbable roles, good safeclaims, etc. 2-3 can still be doable.
