Judas is an alignment. The card can be used as alignment and have a role added, or it can be used as a role card which makes it vanilla of whatever alignment is chosen.
Each of the 3 possible setups was an independent draw with a full deck. Cards can duplicate across the 3 setups, but cannot duplicate within a setup. We're playing setup C (some say 3). If you're gonna counter somone be certain it's using a card from the role you actually got for the game.
im missing the question here?

Some things are bothering me.
First of all:
In post 22, Elsa Jay wrote:I like living. Pretty simple. Besides, it was more boring then my other draws.
For someone that likes living, making early threats and claiming vig guarantees you die sooner rather than later.
Then also:
If he likes playing mafia why claim judas which makes him less likely to be lynched and win con changed as a result?
It's like some dissonance, but i may overthinking things or not understand Elsa's playstyle at all, can someone tell me if im overthinking things, preferably, someone not named Shadow.

Rude but fair.

Tbh I just wanted the Judas as a substitute Unlynchable to use in a dire circumstance. But this set up can be hugely townsided so I want to win as town.

Btw, funny is that i could also have discarded wrong place at the wrong time townie and also gotten the same combination i currently have.
Revealing that this card is in play, if true, took away a chance to counter caught scum of whatever type. It's a mistake to reveal information unnecessarily. Might even be scum.

Not many scum would claim a Universal Miller, Dave, but yeah.

During page 4 there were several incorrect posts about the mechanics, which I'm correcting in my post.

Claiming it early does not jive with wanting it for a dire circumstance. I think this one is actually a lie and not just truth that looks like a lie. However I agree with being risk adverse, so lynching into it especially on day 1 is a bad move.

Wait I don't understand. If you can only choose Judas as alignment, then it doesn't work? Or Judas is an alignment by itself and not a role? If we lynch Elsa he will become mafia or what?

STOP you are confusing yourself, Judas is tow by default, which means that if you pick it for your wlignmen you are town but don't have the judas power, so you won't become Judas
I think that's the correct way to look at it @micc correct me if I'm wrong

Judas is used as an ability would be Vanilla, using it as the ALIGNMENT means I have the Judas effect. I know it's a weird card but it's not THAT hard.

If you take Judas as Alignment you are Town until you are lynched then you are Mafia. If you take it as a role you are a Vanilla whatever-alignment-you-chose.

This setup is confusing,

this doesn't make sense because I picked 2 "roles" but only got the power of the second one, is it a judas only mechanic?

Agreed.
P-edit: No, everyone gets the alignment of one card and the ability of the other.
Like if you took Town Cop for Alignment and Mafia Roleblocker for your ability then you would be a Town Roleblocker.
Judas card doesn’t actually have an ability and is considered Vanilla for it.

It's a mechanic only in alignment changing roles, I think. The one-shot townie, the Judas and Saulus, and Underdog. They're Vanilla if used as an ability but otherwise they only work as alignment cards.

Judas is basically:
Judas Vanilla.
Judas is the alignment of :Town>Lynched>Mafia
