It's more deep than tall. I'd lean towards wide for this one.

This is tricky, actually. On most world maps, the Atlantic is represented as tall, since it's much larger in the South-North direction than West-East. Also, the fact that it's specified to be specifically this one, as opposed to the even larger Pacific, means we have to deduct a couple points from what we would have given the Pacific.
With just what we've said so far, I'd go with an 80, and I'm open to knock it a bit further down.

well according to my calculations it's about 500-600 times wider than it is deep
this does not seem to map obviously onto a 100 point scale
i'd prob prefer to go a bit higher than 80 but idk how much

I was thinking 90. The Atlantic's pretty wide, but not as wide as the Pacific which would probably be a 95 or a 100.

that seems to be sound logic
i'm trying to brainstorm if there's anything on a smaller scale that would be more extreme in width than an ocean can be and i'm kinda stuck
i was pondering the great wall but it's technically length that's extreme, not width

my thoughts evidently tend not to align with other people's, but i feel like the atlantic/pacific division is probably not the best way to think about things? like, if i was thinking of something to represent "really wide", the fact that something was an ocean at all would be a lot more important to me than which ocean was wider, if that makes any sense. basically, what i'm trying to say is that i think that "let me say the atlantic ocean instead of the pacific to indicate that it's slightly less wide" is not a thought process that tatsuya had.

all that being said, i think that 90 is probably a pretty good guess.

Ok, I can see it. 90 sounds about right, though I wouldn't be opposed to going a couple points lower - 88?

Now that Team IMAGINATION has locked in their guess, it’s time for Team Headgear Psychics to guess whether they think the true target is more to the left (0/Tall) or more to the right (100/Wide) than 90! Team Headgear Psychics has (expired on 2020-05-06 17:41:29) to guess. Remember to provide your answer as
Guess: Left
or
Guess: Right
.

New rule: members of Team Headgear Psychics can place a vote for Left or Right, and if the votes are unanimous I’ll automatically count that as a finalized guess; or if the clock runs out, I’ll take the majority guess.

Shiki joins Team Headgear Psychics!

Starting with the next phase I think we can try having a (rotational) spokesperson for each team since the teams are now unwieldily large.

i think that the true target is far to the left. the atlantic ocean is approximately 15,000 kilometres tall (the distance from the arctic circle to the antarctic circle) and approximately 4,830 kilometres wide (the distance from the united states to northern africa). which should put us in the range of 24-32 depending on how we adjust our calculation to the 100 scale. height and width are generally accepted to be our two dimensional measurements. when applied to a person, height is the distance from the bottom of one's feet to the top of one's head, and width is the distance from the furthest left point on one's body to the furthest right point on one's body (usually excluding one's arms). a person's thickness would be the distance from one's furthest backwards point to their furthest forwards. when we draw a person we have to choose how to orientate them, just as maps are orientated and standardized. i believe the mafia team got distracted by the atlantic ocean's thickness.

I think you might be overthinking this.

The question is, do we think it's above 90, otherwise we just guess left really.

Just for clarity, as I'll be the next one giving the clue, I'll view it as a 0-100 scale.

I think it's left just because number wise, 90 is really high

but i'm ok to sheep shiki on her reasoning (๑•̀ㅁ•́๑)✧

shiki! You're still freezing yourself and doing neck exercises in that snow, huh.

I'm not entirely sure whether that was the clue-giver's interpretation of it, but Left seems better even if we take it by the other interpretation.
