Star Wars Mafia
will run when Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Mafia finishes, so nyah-nyah to those who expressed concern at not really having much of a timeline when I originally tried to reserve it.There was a while ago.orangepenguin wrote:Has there ever been a Harry Potter Mafia? If not, there should be.
Chelo. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.farside22 wrote:Just because I didn't see it anywhere. I am planning on running The Princess Bride as a mini theme mafia game.
I'm not going to allow role claiming. It just wouldn't be fun if you couldn't have fun with the characters a bit. Also it is an 11 player game.Korts wrote:Chelo. My name is Inigo Montoya. EDIT: by which I mean I'd definitely play, though it wouldn't be hard to break with role claims, and there aren't a lot of characters to choose from...
But there are quite a few non-characters that could be added likeKorts wrote:Chelo. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.farside22 wrote:Just because I didn't see it anywhere. I am planning on running The Princess Bride as a mini theme mafia game.

The priest at the wedding ceremony
giant rats
castle guard
pirate
white stallion
Weren't their sea monsters?
You could even be inanimate objects like the pill that saved Wesley or Inigo Montoya's sword. Or characters that didn't exist like Inigo Montoya's zombie father.
Ooo mine is very different then his. Hmm I may still do it. Why not right?Korts wrote:EBWOP: sorry, farside, it's been done.

Ooo, I loved that book. One of the few books I had to read for school that I actually enjoyed. I think this could be interesting.Cybele wrote:How about a "Catcher in the Rye" mafia with roles based more on imporant quotes, events as well as characters.
I totally thought of hosting a game like that!Korts wrote:Poet Showdown Mafia
Mountainous, but every player has a PR: everyone is given a poetic form in which they must post, i.e. shakespearian sonnet, petrarcan sonnet, villanelle, acrostic, etc.

Themed games are pretty much allowed to change the rules as they see fit (with the caveat that most things should be explained up front, if they're not role-specific, and that it may throw your balance into a cocked hat).nohandtyper wrote:I have a question about mine though. It wont be for a while, but would I be able to change some of the rules? Or would even a themed mafia game have to be solid in following the general rules?
Actually, just join my Mini Theme to see how I thought it worked.Wall-E wrote:Natirasha wrote:What if scum controlled the lynch, but the town controlled the nightkill? I'm trying to design around that, but it's hard.Borderlands Mafia
3 Mafia Executioners: Their votes secretly count triple and they get no night kill.
1 Cop: Tests for mafia every night. Vote doesn't count.
1 Vigilante: Gets a nightkill every night. Vote doesn't count.
1 Vigilante's Son: Gets a nightkill every night if the Vigilante is dead. Vote doesn't count.
3 Vanilla powerless: Their votes don't count. They don't know this.
3 Vanilla regular: Their votes count. They don't know this.
There is no votecounting. The mod simply lynches whomever got majority votes when majority is reached.
