Because you've reaction tested like twice in a row now. And the idea that you think that you would be a fine NK choice tonight seems ludicrous at face value. I personally think you are very good Churros and that your analysis is immensely helpful to town. Don't get discouraged by your reads supposedly being bad, the Jake read was fine and at least you were actively trying to something.

I just feel like at this point we've blown two mislynches on 'obviously scummy behavior'. That's why I think your analysis is useful, because it comes from a deeper place than just trying to detect scum from play style.

Also you have a role that could prove useful.

Also you are forcing scum to NK Firebringer if they want to kill you and since he's not a town read of mine, I don't mind scum having to kill him to get to you.

I think there's a small general bias on this site against confTown roles like Innocent Child and Masons because for whatever reason people hold those slots to higher standards than any other Towns but rolling a confTown role doesn't automatically make someone better or worse at playing Town.

I mean maybe. Its just frustrating that that conf town is slightlyish tunneling me. I wasn't really calling him dumb though. I legit think that in the past everytime I've played with masons they've played poorly.

profii seems to follow this towns trend of lynching low activity, low impact slots. id rather lynch one of the more vocal players today. so ima do this

If you really think they're a Mason then why are you questioning whether they're speaking the truth or not? Even if it's not true, you can assume a Mason has a Town-motivated reason for doing so and trying to call them out isn't helping. I don't see how this shade you're throwing at Churros here ever comes from Town.

Why in the world would I try to 'throw shade' at Churros, he's been my top town read nearly all game and now he's like super ace number one confirmed town. It would be pointless to try to shade him. My post had zero shade-throwing intent.

I know his fakes are town motivated. I'm just saying, it's hard to even take them seriously anymore after two in a row.

I don't feel I'm necessarily a priority, depending on the team they can win here even by killing randomly, but removing the confirmed town is always good for mafia?

I...am Zantetsu. I mean, it would be super funny now if they target me and there's a protective, but I don't know any info on that and I would appreciate being NK'd because I'm a bit tired here.

You could say trying to kill me here is both high-risk/high-reward

If they do succeed, fine they removed a mason which is gonna be helpful late-game. If a protect blocks the kill, we gain another lynch.

It's a gamble in my opinion. By claiming mason protectives should theoretically go on me as well mafia night kills should probably come my way.

Let's see their answer and the result to this gamble I guess.

I didn't want to risk leaving confusing crumbs like a 3rd mason or FB being necessarily jailkeeper today because if I die, LyLo is gonna have lots of distractions from my failed shenanigans

I felt like taking the simpler approach.

I'm 100% telling the truth here I've no more tricks/plans in my sleeves.

I was talking about myself in order to say to Churros that a Days-long tunnel isn't inherently scummy.

it's simply confusing and it makes that person way less readable which kinda sucks.

It can be scummy in some cases though.

If profi flips town we've burned 3 lynches on slots that if just played the game properly could have been saved

You mean Churros? Early in the day I scum read him, although it was a super weak read because all my reads were weak. I didn't like the fact that he felt tonally different than in our last game, when he seemed very interested in Norwegian. In fact I was scum leaning both of them for that same reason -- they felt much less interested in each other than the first game, which I thought could come from knowing each other's alignments, i.e. scum.

I specifically tried to look for scummy behavior from Churros because I was really kind of paranoid about him. Others may feel differently but I came into this game thinking Churros is a very strong player and I was paranoid that if he were town he would be very hard to catch.

Something about the Jake wagon though just started to convince me he was town. I can't recall all the details but I went into N1 having switched to a town read on Churros. BUT I WAS STILL PARANOID.

When Churros claimed fruit vendor it further solidified my town read. I didn't see scum gambiting with such a claim at that point. Also when he AtE'd "please stop scum reading me, it's discouraging", I just felt that was genuine. I stopped looking for scummy things to find in Churros' posts. And everything I read from him from that point on sounded towny to me and I just stopped questioning it.

So the short answer is, probably about 3/4 of the way through D1 I had a scum lean on Churros, but it rapidly shifted to a town read after Jake and was totally solidified early in D2. However, I still had this little inkling of paranoia in the back of my mind and I made a plan of how to deal with it. And I executed that plan. The results were irrelevant though because he claimed mason and there were no counter claims (unless profii ever comes back and counter claims it, but that seems so low probability).
