I suck at this game until I get some legitimate information (well, okay, I still suck after that too, but it helps), so... kinda.
I think that ability is more likely to be scum than town.

The claim is fake.
Rolecop is often a mafia role. It's pretty useless in the hands of town - one-shot rolecop is
crazy
useless for town.

Calcifer still seems fine to me. Serene, what are the relevant posts that I skipped that make you think Calcifer is scum?
Dropping Nero from my townreads and moving him into the scumpile. This is fucking ridiculous. Cabd hydra is a solid townread now, though.
Letters being gone for so long makes me want to scumread the slot, and Stevie being gone strengthens my scumread on it. Cephrir makes me like the Doc slot a lot more, but not enough to shake the early scumread.
I like Ank’s 1752. Frustration seems natural and scum would have to fake that because the Nero/Serene shitstorm benefits scum.

Scum when their scumbuddy is wagoned and clearly going down (1-shot rolecop is not a claim which will ever save a player) want the towncred. Scum when their scumbuddy is wagoned need to remain on the wagon in order to have any chance of earning that towncred. Thus, when their scumbuddy botches a claim (in this case, by claiming something which doesn't stand a realistic chance of saving him), they

make the argument that TIP jumping off makes him scum for having instantly believed the claim when no sane townie would, but again, I quite frankly don't find that very likely.

Hm. Maybe. I don't know if I believe TIP is the type to think that far ahead. I'm not sure what me thinking about that wrong would have to do with my alignment, though.
