Maybe it's unwise for me to touch this one, but while I don't think it's impossible Marci reacts the way she did as scum, I think the feeling of anger needed to say something like that is more likely to be caused by the self righteousness coming from being scumread incorrectly

they didn't even throw out a hedged read or some wishy washy faked reads

they were like, sorry my brain is overloaded and dipped. they didn't try and were perfectly content about that. they were a townie who got overwhelmed by the volume of the game.

I think Fireisred pushing there makes some sense because they were looking for something specific but I'm skeptical about genuine scum reads on the slot. Scum usually doesn't behave like that and I'd challenge people to find instances of scum behaving like that.

I've seen many players open with RQS or something similar and I think more than half the time they have been scum

it's not something I would base a confident read on alone but I've seen it happen enough times that my reaction is always negative

i mean, like, I think the personality quiz stuff is just a frog thing

I had a funny thought that maybe instead of playing mafia we just have a party and xofelf being the judge/jury and slowly retire us one by one ala survivor style and even the mafia listen to them and nightkill in the order that they want.

Did Frogstarking just pick two names they recently saw post and interact and go "RNG gives me those two, let's go all in"? Like come on, you're probably better than that(idk since I don't think we've played together nor have I seen you around much). Good luck on getting a meta read, I don't play a lot, though a lot of the people here I've played with before and I roll town almost all the time, I don't think most of this playerlist was even on site the last time I rolled scum or third party so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

I think I have played with xof before and this is fairly typical play, I still wouldn't call it townie though and iso dives can be very performative, esp day 1. So, soft agree.

I've suddenly lost, like, a lot of motivation for this game. Probably partially because I'm being scumread, just to be honest, but also mainly because there's so many posts and I feel lost which is not a feeling I usually have in mafia games. I think if someone else wrote this post I'm writing, I would think it was scummy, but I just want to be honest about how I'm feeling because I can foresee people possibly choosing me for a lim here because I'm withdrawing while a wagon is growing on me, and I guess I just want to make it clear that I don't have the fortitude or free time to earn my way to being a top townread again like I used to (which is NAI in my opinion because I've done it as both alignments and failed to do it as both alignments)

But I'll start trying to sort a bit again because that's at least marginally protown if I can manage to have a few strong + accurate reads

I expected Guilty Lion to want to engage with me more. It felt like he waited an obligatory amount of time to see what the vibes would be and then moved back to my wagon. And I sort of expect GL to be the type of player who likes to sort every player for himself

frankly you kinda helped out a lot by making some terrifically bad posts about Frogster that I disliked everything about

and the second doesn't make sense to me because if you think Fireisred had good intentions and raised a good point about a specific meta difference between Eira's prior town games and their play here, why are you suspicious of people for agreeing with that finding

I need to read marci's iso because it was all incidental stuff from reading other folks'.
I think your push on FB is wrong but useful and I like your play.
My Datisi read I think is wrong for now and I'm gonna move my vote. Later stuff certainly appears to be working toward a solve. Page 28 interactions with FB aside but I thing ye all talked about that enough.
I thought also maybe skip and scamp had scum between them but then actually skitter's iso looked pretty good and I haven't looked at scamp properly yet.
HEMs early stuff I thought town and also VP but a few things struck me as off from both and I would like to look back properly at both.
I don't particularly think FB is town but I can wait for him to kick into gear for now and he's done enough that I am not auto scumreading so I don't want to vote there right now.
I am interested in seeing more of Xof's iso dives to see what kind of content is there

A lot of these reads feel hedgey and I'm super unclear on your thought process. Like, what actually is your read on Datisi? Are you actually just townreading him for producing game relevant content or is there something more to it?

If you haven't done so yet I would also like to hear about your scumreads. I know it's unfair to expect a replacement to be like right on the ball immediately but a lot of this stuff is super vague and looks trivial to fake

It's a personality thing that you noticed about irrel IMO

I think it's worth keeping in mind because it makes irrel more dangerous as both alignments. My feeling here is that they're being genuine (as far as their alignment goes.)

Obscure feels new town in general to me, I especially like this;

at this point i'm also emphasizing that i like and dislike a lot of the same people even more.

Because I think this is super natural, especially for a newer player, and scum obscure would be more likely to hedge out their reads a bit to look more uncertain?
