Low-hanging fruit. Lots of "awkward-and-derpy" indicators. Too much thirstiness to jump on him for my taste. A bunch of little things that amounted to a warning sign.
*shrug* That sort of assessment is art rather than science. I can't point to a specific point where the assessment became clear.
