I'm feeling a bit discouraged about this game. Usually by this point in time, my scum hunting and pressuring is leading town towards a lynch. In fact, I'm typically one of the biggest driving forces behind the day 1 lynch. However, this game it just seems off. A point that I felt so sure about is turning up with nothing.
I'm going to read the game over tomorrow, hopefully with a little less bias this time around. Hopefully I'll get something fresh.
For the time being I'm going to
unvote
, as I'm obviously getting nowhere with my Konowa line of reasoning.
It's hard to scumhunt when you're trying to track down the people in your quicktopic and it's unsuccessful.
"I'm discouraged, that's why I'm less active!"
Really scumbag? Really?

unvote;
flp, like I said there is nothing substantive about my read on sword. I just don't like how his two posts have basically contained the same points and that's all there is to it.

Thanks Jason.
That helped.
I don't like Kimor and Smugen at the moment, content.
Kimor gives me actually after reread the worst vibes.
The Kondivotepoint. I think 3 players have voted Klick (did not check RVS), 2 of them were normal votes, 1 was for policity (Jasons and that seemed to be a gambit)
Strange defence, because that's not far from normal pocking.

Strange game so far, with first Iceninja then Jason making weird posts then deciding that scum must have jumped on them for it... while there are probably scum on the wagons somewhere, it's early day 1 and town jump on weird posts too. Going over the votes I didn't find any significant alignment tells there. While I'm still somewhat suspicious of Jason, I think further questioning him isn't going to result in more useful information at this point.
Vote: Kimor
I agree with Stefan - Kimor's defence of Klick seemed unnecessary and it's odd that he would completely ignore the significantly larger Iceninja and Jason wagons to stress this point.

Then I believe your claim. Morty would would be town aligned, a neutral survivor at WORST, and you described him without being familiar with the series. It was a trick question, sparked by your not knowing what an ectomancer is.
Grey, I feel like I need to point out that at this point you're going beyond scum hunting and just trying to bash me in to the ground. You'll see whatever I say as scummy and you're being kind of a dick. In 100% seriousness you need to take a step back and look at things freshly.
A more contentful post will come today.

Oh and side note, I'm actually finding greenknight's lack of avatar at this point legitimately scummy. He's obviously not reading everything. Town 100% needs to read everything in order to find scum, but scum doesn't necessarily have to, especially if they're a low activity player.

Wow in rereading the game I realized how horribly bad Grey's pushes on me have been. Take a look at how Zdenek, and to a lesser extent, Kortul scum hunted me. They scrutinized my posts, analyzed everything I said, and formed their opinions as a result. Even Klick, who more or less just mindlessly pounded on me for a couple pages, had some reasoning behind it. Zdenek and Kortul have both played thus far to a town win condition.
Grey's "scum hunting" of me almost literally boils down to "HURR HURR HE'S SCUM LYNCH HIM NOW!".
I would also like to REMIND everyone that in
post 173, Grey made this outright false statement:
GreyICE wrote:
ICENinja's response to pressure is to switch his vote THREE MOTHERFUCKING TIMES.
I've only placed three votes so far, and the first one was placed before there were votes on me. This isn't even misrepresentation, it is outright lying.
two posts later I call him out on it. He fails to respond, and posts about other things.
later down the same page I call him out on it again. He
still
has not responded.
In his most recent post, Grey also made a potentially HUGE slip:
GreyICE wrote:

Scum having daytalk is not a common power for scum to have. The only reason I could possibly think of why you'd assume this is because you know for a fact that scum have daytalk and slipped.
There isn't a shred of town motivation to this guy attacking me.
I'm still pretty suspicious of Konowa. Both Pidgey and Shmugen are making me twitch a bit, but I'm having a hard time putting my finger on why. I'll look at them in more detail soon. Jason is either telling the truth about his claim or he is freaking brilliant. ABR and Sixty seriously need to start playing, Klick needs to get in here and make some new content, and why greenknight doesn't have an avatar at this point literally boggles my mind. The only explanation I can think of is, as I previously said, he isn't reading the thread.
I'm actually pretty confident right now that Grey is scum.
Vote GreyICE

Oh and to respond to Zdenek's 197, they were page 1 votes that seemed like they meant nothing. I called you and Konowa out on them to see how you'd respond and try to develop some reads.
More than anything I just wanted to see why Konowa voted me, and his lack of response to that lead to my suspicions of him.

Scum having daytalk is not a common power for scum to have.
Actually, in all the games I've played on MS, scum have had daytalk - possibly it's more common in theme games. At any rate, MoI gave scum daytalk in the last game he ran, which I played in. I would assume they have it in this game too.
and why greenknight doesn't have an avatar at this point literally boggles my mind. The only explanation I can think of is, as I previously said, he isn't reading the thread.
I am reading the thread, I just chose to ignore your demand that I get an avatar - I haven't had one since I joined this site and no one else has had a problem with it

You did not call me out on mine. You over reacted to two votes on you, you think that is "calling out".
And I'm pretty sure I have never seen anyone react to someone overreacting to the votes on them by saying "oh no, that was random, relax," but what do I know.
This reponse of ICEninja make almost no sense to me in the context of our discussion. It reads like scum trying to reinterpret history. I still want him dead.

I'm doing a reread of the game. A lot of people have asked me about my Klick issue. I didn't really want to get into this, but I recently played another game with him, and he did pretty well. We later chatted, and he said that he had a reputation as a VI on this site, but was trying to improve. When I read through the game the first time (rather quickly), and saw policy lynch votes against him, I was very disappointed, because he hadn't done anything that I saw which would warrant such a reaction. My initial post was probably not well-worded, and after I made the post, I realized that there weren't many votes against him at that point - just some people talking about policy lynching him.

I'll confirm the above. However, if I read it right, jason was just reaction testing using the fact that he knew I hated when people did that. Thank you for caring about that, though. ^.^
I'm reading through this again tonight.

Alright, looking at it again, I am somewhat concerned with Kortul, GreyICE, Klick, Jason and Fatlikepig. The Klick thing is a bit hypocritical, but I do have to include him on the list because he did the same thing that I am finding the other two scummy for. This reason was also not given in regards to Klick's votes previously.
The votes on ICEninja on D1 are really, really bad. I've never been a fan of random votes, and I think this sort of shows why. It easily allows scum to build up "pressure" on undeserving players in hopes of catching them in some accidental gaffe or bad wording that has nothing to do with alignment. The fact that we got all the way to L-1 is astounding to me.
Stefan seems to be carrying on the joke made by Sixty and hoping to build momentum.
Most importantly, though...Kortul tries to justify this vote. His justification is awful, but he does try to. None of the stuff that he mentions is remotely close to anything voteworthy. To me, that looks like scum trying to substantiate an inconsequential case. The rest of his game is just clarifying questions that look like content, but aren't.
Unvote, vote: Kortul
Still am not liking Pidgey, but I don't have nearly as much to go on with him.
Jason is concerning, because he put ICEninja at L-1 for absolutely no reason.
Fatlikepig also has no reason and seems to be conforming with the group.

Kimor, if the ICEninja wagon had never happened, how long do you think it would have taken for us to have actual discussion without wagoning someone else up?

↑ Klick wrote:Kimor, if the ICEninja wagon had never happened, how long do you think it would have taken for us to have actual discussion without wagoning someone else up?
Not that long. I also think that the "discussion" arising from these fake wagons is generally non-indicative of alignment. It's why I have always preferred the random question approach, but I've gotten lynched for using that recently, so I have basically taken the approach that I'm just not voting until I have a reason to vote.

Setting aside this "fake" wagon, what do you think of ICEninja's claims regarding greenknight?
Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 1:54 pm

In fact, I'm curious as to why you've only discussed ICEninja as a wagon instead or discussing any of his other play.
Posted: Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:25 pm
by Kimor
I've seen his play as middle-of-the-road, and not really worth comment one way or another.
His comments regarding Greenknight are bad as a matter of policy, but are not necessarily indicative of scum.

by ICEninja
God dammit. No, I obviously don't find greenknight scummy, I'm just trying to bully him in to getting an avatar because it's irritating that he doesn't have one. Out of more than 20 games, this is the first one I've ever been in that someone is going to play the whole way through without an avatar. It forces me to pay extra attention to him, and forces me to ISO him more often because I've developed an apparently crippling reliance on associating avatars with what was said by that player.
Which is also why I hate it when there are multiple anime avatars in the same game because I mix them up.
Zdenek wrote:

So your vote on me gets to count as scum hunting, and my comment in response doesn't? You seem confused. An overreaction would be panic about people placing votes on me. As I've said before, and had another player meta confirm, I make radical leaps in logic to call someone scum in the first page or two in order to get discussion going.
Maybe I'm missing something completely, but I just don't see how any of that can be interpreted as scummy, or how any of it plays to a scum win condition. At the time of the post I had literally nothing better to go off of scum hunting wise, so I took the best swing I could.
And while I wasn't expecting you to just say "it was a random vote", I was expecting that to be the general tone of the response, to come back with a "no, that isn't why I voted you, my vote on you was RVS". Which it turned out not to be, and apparently I'm the only one in the game that can't figure out how you could have possibly placed a serious vote on me on page one. Which, considering how I tend to make radical leaps of logic early in the game to get discussion going, is saying something.
Like I said, that comment resulted in me eventually getting a read on Konowa, so I'd actually call it a success.
Please explain how I'm trying to rewrite history.
