Alright, I see some people are getting rowdy so I'll lay down some terms for me starting us off: I want everyone to have meaningful contribution before votes go flying. Reasonable?

Hasn’t that already happened?

Some would argue that there won’t be any meaningful contribution before votes actually count.

Also why?

I'll argue that there can be lots of meaningful contribution before votes

Here is why I think this is a good idea:

Game starts off with nobody full on lurking - everybody is sortable, vs a day 1 lynch with slots nobody can read and everybody is ok lynching
Nobody claims their role prematurely only to get unvoted and move onto the next wagon
Some people think games move too fast, this way everyone can get their toes in the water and won't have any excuses not to do so - this ties in with the lurker thing
Town is made to pay attention to players who are lurking/active lurking on day 1

Here are arguments for this being a bad idea:

People are impatient and want to hurry the game up (I don't care)
People think there's no readable content without votes - not true, people can discuss reads, and of course when I vote the votes will be open to everyone and they can put their money where there mouth is. Momentum can still form, in a sense.
People don't want to contribute to the game on day 1/before there are flips (The rest of us do want you to contribute on day 1/before there are flips)

But tell you what, I'm not a tyranical dictator, if this proves to be wildly unpopular then I'll open up the day if 13 players type HEAL: Start the day, though I would prefer that everyone contributed

I would if there weren’t already close to 10 pages. I think if you don’t open up the voting soon, people are liable to get pissed off and/or bored.

I think it’s a good idea in general and it could definitely benefit most games but I think we’ve already had what you described already and the game is starting to get stagnant. Don’t you agree?

How does that counter:

Just because people get upset due to impatience, doesn't mean it's not the correct play, no?

How does that counter:

I don't agree, I said I wanted everyone to contribute so there weren't people lurking we couldn't sort, what I've seen so far is a few loud voices with a ton of posts and various others that aren't really in the game yet

Do you think that if I asked you for reads, you'd be able to list everyone without putting down "this player hasn't posted enough for me to get a read on them yet"?

I think the ppl that want to hurry up the start of the day are scum/dont care that we may end up in a deadline rush like in minuet's D1.

Lol, that’s great but if you have any advice for me in future games, how to stop sucking, that would be much appreciated.

I didn't mean for the mechanic to artificially lengthen the day too long. Dunnstral, please vote within the next 24 hours or I will start the deadline anyway.
