I mean my view on it is Anya claimed mason, which is a guaranteed town role for themself and everyone in that PT...but then outed herself and Kyo and voted Kyo...if Kyo is in that mason PT they would have to be a town-aligned mason since this is a normal. Then they both fall off the map, don't thoroughly answer any questions about it, and don't look to be scumhunting. Idk if someone can tell me why I'm thinking about this wrong but it's either a really weird dumb play or it's a botched and strange scum gambit we're just letting them not explain

Yes, you both were failing. Masons without a PT can also fail. In a neighbors situation, you have a PT to avoid drama infecting the game. In a masons without a PT situation, they yell over each other, causing drama.

The only place where masons without a PT trumps neighbors with a PT supposing equal skill level is if the hood is T v S.

So something outlandish came to me last night: on D1 when people were "crumbing" did anyone threaten to vig Anya?
If there's a traitor in the game and Kyo is scum, Kyo could've interpreted the neighbor claim as the traitor letting the scum faction know who they were. If someone threatened to vig Anya, would scum use the jailkeeper to protect Anya from the kill? It would have the effect of roleblocking them which is how we've interpreted it until now but it's main goal could've been to protect

Why would scum protect anya? Anya was a miselim but very hard to secure. I doubt the scumteam would protect anya as their main motivation.

Scum would largely be demotivated here. If Gamma is scum, they have a hard path to victory. If Gamma is town, argubly their path is harder. So not seeing someone is a sign of a red PM.

I am not. I am following you based on my independent strategy analysis. If Gamma flips town, scum night kills are largely dictated onto low influence players. If he flips scum, it gives a boatload of associatives. I don't see a downside to flipping Gamma.

I don't think your mech analysis is correct. If scum don't shoot Gamma!town they can just shoot at Gamma's "clears" and DotW and force lylo with paranoia on Gamma's slot for living. If Gamma is scum, then he can use his clears as buddying in lylo or to protect a weaker partner.
