Wow.In post 2343, Pavowski wrote:Okay, you guys are ready to run me up. Cool cool cool.
Might as well claim.
I'm Oberon's Flower. I make people fall in love. 'Twas I who loverized Galron and Icebox. I had a good scumread on Galron and I was nullish at best on Icebox after d1 (townier since then!). Several of you expressed that loverizing seemed like a scum ability; maybe it usually is (this is my first game with the mechanic), but this time it isn't. I had an ability and didn't want to die with it in my pocket. I do not know why they subsequently fell out of love, but something must have happened to nullify it because my ability was still "spent".
I can loverize again if the opportunity arises for me to repurchase the ability, but it hasn't come up yet, so I'm a vanilla townie right now. As such I do make sense as an elimination target, as until something unforeseen happens, I can't add any intel or affect the game in any meaningful way. I can think of one pair I'm curious to loverize if given the chance, but who knows if that'll happen or if you will let me live that long.
Anyway, watch the vote counts. There is opportunism afoot.
And I wrote you guys a damn sonnet, too.
Probably done posting for tonight!

Bowser and Pav are officially annoying me if they're town. All is forgiven if they're scum. I don't like how relaxed Pav is in the neighborhood in contrast to here.
I don't like that Bowser is not really doing anything. ...Even though that's kind of what they usually do. Maybe, I'm being hard on them due to elevated expectations. Eh, they still hard pushed Galron. Forget it.
Wait actually, does anyone know Notty's or Spiffeh's approach to bussing.
I actually can't remember it.You are frozen.

I think Wisdom's angle is weird though, yeah.
Why are we letting OTH live. There's like 2 or 3 claims on the floor that are pretty much: "Just let me live for a while and I'll be useful, I promise"

They just keep extending with the excuses.
I'm only slightly confused because they claimed what they claimed after their claim would have come out as demonstrably false.
Titus, what you're saying is that if they're being truthful about their claim than they can't night kill again because their own role would block them and to that I say.

No, I got that. But this is ignoring the billion reasons why you don't let players live over night because of a claim. It gives scum opportunity for more night shenanigans and widens their options during the night. COF said they were posioned and gunna die N3, in retrospect once they claimed tempest it should have been obvious they were lying, now they say they're a god that blocked the kills but there are clear contradictions and alternate explanations for why there wasn't a night kill. Now they say they can do it again if you just let them live, please, one more time.In post 2908, Lukewarm wrote:
I think Titus is saying that scum!CoF would be forced to no kill in order to keep their fake claim believable, so leaving them could save us a night kill either way.In post 2904, Icebox wrote:They just keep extending with the excuses.

This is a good post.In post 2985, Lukewarm wrote:I'm looking back at Cephir, and I am unsure why he voted OTH in 2114. OTH claimed that they were a town vig that shot at him over night before that vote in 2069.
I feel like there were plenty of people suspectic OTH because they claimed to be self clearing, but were suddenly backpeddling on if they could. But seeing the full claim, Cephir should have immediately known why their clear failed since he was bulletproof.
I kind of feel like he should have then believed that they were town, since there still was a mafia kill that night, so this shot at him had to come from a vig.
Like, from his pov, OTH was either a town vig, or they were scum who knew he was bulletproof and then made up their claim to fit with it.
I don't like the vote, but he does walk it back soon after in 2169. So maybe that was him realizing that? I wish he was here for me to ask

Not feeling much so far. I don't really like how Pav navigated the early suspicion and how he responded to lukewarm. It seems sort of fit-inny.
It should be noted that his attempt was successful, I think. Everyone that responded brought up the actual play they were from. The accusation by Dunstral was generic, but it's rvs.
I'm kind of waiting to see what Galron does with the ice cream thing because it might be PT indicative.

Do you think Dunn could be the last scum?
I understand what Bowser is saying and it does seem like he would have had too many actions to do to be the last scum. So I am torn. I 'd like to sheep LLD. But if scum can use loverize again and we don't lim them, town is in deep shit.

So far, neither have really engaged ceph, while JC seems to be treating Pav similarly to ceph but not remarkably so. Is anyone going to straight up answer whether Bowser is clear or not based on their claim?
It’s kind of unlike Dunnstrall not to validate their reasoning in a vote at this stage of the game. Rather, they’re not addressing the mechanics, when they should, and should be capable of doing so (history of messing up those sorts of observations not withstanding).

What do you think about the votes on us? I wasn't thrilled with DV's but rereading my post asking to be engaged by you and marci I can squint and kinda see how he got there, but overall feels like a reach to me.
I do think it's odd that he criticizes us for trying too hard to get in a townbloc and then proceeds to buddy (imo) LLD by saying he agrees with her despite her having only voted this entire game.
~SpiffyIn post 266, Dunnstral wrote:Begone beldams, playeth not tricks of the mindIn post 270, Bowser Jr. wrote:I don’t think there’s anything fundamentally different between suspicion and criticism in this context.
I can elaborate on why I called your agreement with LLD buddying: LLD has done nothing but vote this entire game, which is fine, but your explicitly calling out that you agree with her feels unearned because she hasn’t expressed an opinion to be agreed with outside of what we can assume from her votes.
It felt to me that you were trying to endear yourself to her, and seeing as LLD is a very influential Town player I could see scum trying to cozy up to her.

This post illustrates a pattern with your approach to us so far: in the post where you vote us, you seem to take issue with the post where I list out all my townreads and ask for a few of them to engage with me about the game. So many things are suddenly becoming other things and it reeks of creating narratives where no such narratives exist
The above quoted post paints my actions as “creating narratives” which feels like a reach and is a buzz-phrase that gives you a convenient excuse to double down on your vote as our wagon grows.
I understand that the nature of mafia requires you to look for scum motivation in everyone’s posts, but your handling of your push on us in both these cases feels like you came into the read with the intention of scum reading us and are looking for things that will reinforce that.
