I read your posts, and they felt slimy like a used car sales man, and I didn't trust you. I spotted an apparent mindset shift when approaching the game that I did not trust. I spotted manipulative looking posts that I didn't trust. And I spotted posts that looked like they were buddying. And I didn't trust any of them either.

While this seems like a fair argument initially, it falls apart when you realize one simple fact.

You don't need to look at your

role PM

to know that you have drawn scum.

You can just

look at your private topics

and tell that you have drawn scum.

Tell me: how can Cephrir differentiate between "momo has not viewed the PM or the scum PT at all", and, "momo did not view the PM, viewed the scum PT, but just didn't post in the scum PT"?

The two are entirely inseparable to him. But the difference between the former and the latter is a difference in likely alignment for the slot.

And since momo flakes more often as scum and momo need not read his role PM to learn that he is scum, trying to clear yourself from momo having not read the role PM doesn't actually work. In fact, it's the opposite; it makes the slot

likely to be scum--not less.

I think I overreacted to Wallflower because I don't like being tunneled, especially not the way she went after me, but something as simple as the exchange about STD last night didn't ~feel~ like the route scum would take. Need a few hours to sit down and look at the playerlist and sort things through.

Nashville could be scum, they're in my Pink tier, but part of me thinks they could just be town not in the game fully. I likely wont be one of the main ones pushing Nashville myself, but I do town read most of the people pushing them.

Idk. I feel like I'd be able to read them with a much higher certainty a little bit later in the game, and it's holding me back from wanting to go there.

I get the case, I just don't know if it makes them scum, is where I'm at.

I'm all caught up, although admittedly I kind of skimmed the last bits of the Well Done and Flavor argument since i don't think I got anything out of that. I still think the Nashville Dreams case is better than anything those two are slinging at each other though.

I'm tentatively townleaning Flavor -- I'm vibing some of his main scumreads and coming around to scum!catboi, whose 1498 pinged me and because his weird townread on mastina on page 72. mastina is also scummy -- I wasn't feeling her vague butterchurn push or the momo PT thing. I also find Flavor pretty manipulative as town in general, so I'm not sure the points made against him are AI.

I also think Klick could be scum -- his posts pinged me as pocket-y, like when he was talking to Mena about filler stuff on page 61 instead of taking the time to work with Mena on reads.

i don't know malcolm you just don't feel like i've seen you and i can't really describe it.

the cassowary post stands out because it's something scum could easily hedge with and go either direction with in the future, if cassowary finds herself under suspicion then you can jump on it or defend depending on what would work better

I feel like I wasn't really myself early game - I do often struggle for reads a bit but felt very thin on the ground after my initial catch-up. But I feel like my Cassowary post is pretty much basic town from my POV as to how I play - outline a case for why a player might be X alignment, but then outline a potentially opposite stance for why my initial bit could be wrong. I get this may be frustrating as it can be vague at times but it's perfectly in-line with my thinking as town most of the time.

If I made that post about, say, Monkey for example, I could maybe get where you're coming from because Monkey's had lots of different reads on them from all sorts of angles...but Cassowary hasn't had a lot of attention heaped on them up until now, and I was basically doing some ISO checks to formulate thoughts on some players I'd not really formed an opinion on so far.

I have both posted more than you and certainly had more thought out takes than you. For the record, I was stuck in a high-intensity game offsite when this started that severely diminished my ability to focus on this game which is why my posting did lapse for period of time. I hadn't intended it to be that way, this game just kind of filled by surprise when I was signed for other one. I had assumed being MS and this having a long deadline I could take it easy for at fisrt. Regardless, that's done now and I can focus my full attention on the game.

Yeah. I don't think you're scum, but coming in with an outrageously anti-consensus take on a player I feel is pretty townie is more likely to come from town mastina, where as scum her reads are going to hew closer to consensus and generally seem to make more sense. The opinions she's coming in with feel confidently her own, don't agree with the read on you, but I believe she believes it.
