I agree that the setup was pretty awkward but the idea is gold.

I agree with the general sentiment that the game was scum-sided, but I feel TheShadow's modkill helped us to no end. I would have foreseen the game going a completely different course with him alive—me living as long as I did would have been unfeasible and we would have to take more risks with the town.

I don't think I need to repeat that this setup was completely scum-sided to the point where we barely had a chance. That said, I'm curious. How did you guys figure out I was the judge, or was it just a lucky guess?
In other news, I'm an awesome judge for correctly pardoning town both times!

We were able to narrow it down by noting who was in the jury and ruling them out as per the game mechanics.

Yea I thought that would be the case:

Sleep tight!
Is it possible for the judge to ever become part of the jury?
No:

Gay. That'll make it really easy for scum to figure out my role when I never get called up.
I tried really hard to obfuscate my role so the scum couldn't guess it, but at the end of the day there was always PoE.

Dang, shoulda gone with six goons.
Then they'd actually stand a chance.
<3. Too bad the setup made it really easy to find the Judge and I was unlucky enough to have that target on my back. :/

It was process of elimination, much in the same way as wrathchild was trying to isolate potential executioners later in the game, we started each day crossing off who could not be the judge
by day 3 we had gotten it down to this:
actually wait...
The judge cant get chosen for jury either...between night 1 and night 2 we could actually work out who the judge is now? Unless he was included as a possible tonight cause there was no judge action.
but if the judge has not been on the jury at all then he cannot be any of these players:
Nocmen, D3f3nd3r, AurorusVox, , Quilford, Axelrod,Gooner, N or wrathchild
that leaves: Ser Panda, nero cain, vijay, guile, doomyoshi and mastermind of sin
nero cain is dying tonight, ser panda is being checked tonight
so that'll leave guile, doomyoshi and MOS as our choices for judge tomorrow.
Mod was the judge eligable for jury duty tonight because he had no action or was he still not allowed
and then I pretty much clicked it was you after your exchange with SC
I think mos just heavily breadcrumbed being the judge...
mos is the judge, i'm positive. He practically screamed it in the last few posts with SC.
All I want now is to nail quilford.
So uhmm you can blame me for that:D

I actually thought that way before I ever saw my role...so it wasn't really a breadcrumb.

EBWOP: Especially since on multiple occasions other players (than myself) had mentioned that Nocmen must have been pardoned Day 1 because he claimed something to the judge...I don't see how my repeating the obvious conclusion from that made me the Judge other than by PoE lol

weird things like that always seem to happen, something that you do everytime regardless becomes a tell because just that once it makes everyone think you are scum/pr i nthat scenario.
sort of sucks (happened to me a while back in the most aggravating of ways)
but thanks for deflating my pride

mostly because you were still so aware of it. Consider that by the time you were dead most town had dropped the notion that you had pardoned nocmen and despite bloodcovonent having results that confirmed you pardoned pretty much everyone had hopped on to the idea that nocmen had not been pardoned but had been saved by scum.
When you are X power role you tend to be more aware of the mechanics while most players are more willing to go into the standard claim at l-1 mentality.
btw why did you clear nocmen and quilford? It was odd cause day 1 everyone was talking about not pardoning anyone...

In looking back over my posts to see how right I was/wasn't (I derped hard on the Bastion read) I did notice that I was brilliant about one thing amongst other brilliances;

Gut read said they were town. Given how ridiculously easy it is to mislynch in mass quantities in this game, I felt that it was my duty as judge to reverse a decision if my gut said we'd made the wrong choice.

What might have been a better mechanic for the judge to have to select someone to be the executioner each night. (obviously not allowed to choose himself)
It takes the power out of mafia's hands, while not randomizing it or clearing a townsperson.
Letting the mafia choose the exec all the time was op for them.
Another option would be to have the mafia and the judge switch off each night in choosing the exec. Balance wise that might make it a little easier on the town.

...Yeah. I thought we had a lot of control over the game very early. Just manipulate the game to hell and we have it, I thought in the very early game.

I'm not so worried about the executioner bit...but the ability to kill the judge at any time while making it incredibly easy to figure out who the judge was thanks to the jury? That was OP.
