i'm not reading too deeply into this. under different circumstances i might agree, but after he brought up a game from two years ago as justification for hating hydras and people started commenting on this, i don't think him not backing down means much.
rebel wrote:Some players start out with surface attacks and sort of ease their way in. I think HP is one of those players.
indeed, and i already acknowledged that i might be reading too much into his playstyle. it doesn't really change the fact that i don't like how he arrived at his scum reads, though.
btw, what's your read on ns? is there a reason you're still voting him?

kitty: Could you, please, elaborate your reads? And I'm genuinely curious: if you discussed your reads etc., why didn't you read, edit, design one single post instead of several put in chronological order?
At least for me they are gut reads as of now. Since the "cat" is out of the bag anyways. this is a hydra of Malakittens & Mantisdreamz. Mantisdreamz posted those last few posts and it's her play style soooo. My reads were given earlier though.

We have more than one townread and one scum read. Maybe you should read more clearly ns.

You're right

I also want to just curl up into a ball and sleep. I got a cold so I might not post for a bit. I don't know if C will count this as a temp V/LA or whatever.
Goodnight mew.

That was me. I just wanted to show up something, but it actually wasn't the best way to do it.
If I pointed out why ns is wrong, then what do you see? I could only list some of my posts I think are townish and say thing about my playstyle. It's either self-meta (with one completed game atm, btw), or nullifying my townish posts if there are any (I haven't ISO'd myself) by WIFOM because you cannot know if those posts were genuine or not. The WIFOM is there if I don't do such things, too, but it wouldn't be so strong.
About HC:
Rebel: I saw him do similar things as town. Forgetting to sum up what I meant with a certain paragraph is an old mistake of mine.
HC: not cheking so obviously is something that scum would try to avoid, imo. If he had admitted that he didn't really know, that would probavly highly increase his towncred, as I see. So as scum that would have been the optimal answer.

I can't be the only one bugged by that middle paragraph. It looks like he's trying harder to SEEM townish rather than find scum.

dessew wrote:I could only list some of my posts I think are townish and say thing about my playstyle.
two things here. first, if you're town, you should be questioning ns and finding out exactly why he thinks you're scum. second, responding to cases is a
good
thing - it's part of being completely transparent. so what if it's wifom?
the fact that you're not considering the possibility that ns is scum pushing you for poor reasons only adds to my suspicion of you.

I don't find his catch-up post scummy, it has some good points, and I can see the reasons why he reads me scum. It's true that I have only 1 scumread so far, the rest is null and town, and if Fu's posts are really so goddamn town, I haven't done much in this game. The other part of his reasoning is my meta, which is just fine, I guess. I don't understand his #234, though, I'd like to read more about it.

it's not so much that fuduzn's posts are "so goddamn town" (i was looking back over his ISO earlier and didn't feel as strongly about him looking town - i want to see what comes out of the "reread" he promised to do over the weekend) but that the frustration felt sort of genuine.
so you know you only have one scum read. what are you doing to find the rest?
in other news, i'm getting paranoid about sos because they seem to have faded away in the last few days.

Well its ironic that Rail Tracer has been accusing HP of hiding behind the hydra discussion when the attempts at scumhunting are there and the only reason HP keeps talking about hydras is because Rail Tracer keeps bringing them up. Makes sense? Also, what is iioa?
Ik Brian, whats problematic here is that you initially didnt say anything about his hydra statement until people said they didnt agree with some of it, your post agreeing to a part of it looks like it supports the whole statement.
Idk what it is, but I feel like notscience is too agreeable here, Im getting a light scum read on his slot. I dont like his attack on kitty by saying that they have 14 posts, ergo they must be scum.
I think he may have a point about Dessew but Im having a gut scum read on him.

Yeaahh, Im doubting my scum read on Dessew..

That's a misrep. I said it's strange for someone with as many posts as they have to have those few scumreads (I realized I was wrong on townreads). Got any questions for me?

i've mentioned that i don't give two shits about how much he hates hydras. he could sign each post with 1000-word essays essentially saying "FUCK HYDRAS" and i wouldn't care if it came secondary to scum hunting. the issue is that his early posts were all about hydras, and i'm not impressed with the scum hunting he's done so far.
was there any point in you bringing this up? do you think the way i'm attacking hp is scummy or something?
daniel wrote:Yeaahh, Im doubting my scum read on Dessew..
so then who are you thinking is scum?

i don't like how you were active and had a take-charge sort of attitude earlier and now you pop up every now and then and comment on something before disappearing again
who do you currently think is scum, sos?

I have some concerns about dessew. I've unvoted FuDuzn, but don't have a good comfort level with him. More on that later.
Mario's first substantive post was pretty good, but his activity level is disturbing.
There are a couple of players I am leaning town on that I would feel much better about if I could see them as strong town.

i'm going to assume you have a reason for not mentioning which players. is more on this coming later, too?

Yes they are, and based on (you'll hate this) meta. I metadived his completed scum game this weekend.

kitty has effectively only 6 posts, they are just divided. And Mario told us that his schedule might be inconvinient for us. Although yes, it's time for them to do something funny.
About RT&HP: Both of them kept posting about other stuff, not only about one another. I still think that this debate doesn't lead us anywhere.
#239&241 is noted.
