Anyway, if no one has anything notable to say by around this time tomorrow, I'll probably start the BP/no BP claim thing (we're way past the point where it can get in the way of the first few days worth of content), and see if anything interesting happens from that.

My experiences with it recently have suggested that we shouldn't do so. It's good for winrates but it does bad things.

I think there's good and bad, but IMO the biggest issue is it fucks with early game (also outed BP is apparently a boring role to play for newbies, which is also bad).
Then again, maybe I can save claim stuff until day 2 and see if someone can reprise the Grey role from 1774

You just get more suss by the minute WM. I've got my eyes on you
.
Scum-reading a theory disagreement, subsequently lets it die
The bolded and underlined part was more of a rvs joke with a tinge of seriousness, but mostly just joking. Thats why I never bothered to bring it back up again. WM seems like a player who I wouldn't be able to confirm the alignment of until a later day.
As for finding something interesting I'll take a look and get back to you on that.

At this point I'd like you in particular to talk about why this game has been a low interest thing for you (I vaguely recall that you liked being VT? Is that wrong?), and if you're town actually start doing things, since right now you're the closest thing I have to a decent SR.

Who doesn't like a good prod dodge?
I'm reading, but also working. One pays, so I'll update hopefully later tonight after I get off.

I said I'd post to day but every time I try to catch up I just can't think straight enough to have any reading comprehension.
Can I V/LA till "when I feel better?" I think it will be any day now. I'm really excited about how things are starting to move faster and I want to participate. Sorry everybody.

Interesting. What in particular makes you think he's scum?

So Fykus, this was your first sort of substantive post in this game. That post happened soon after
the second very early scum flip in a 10/3 game (NOTE FOR NEWBIES: you are NOT allowed to talk about ongoing games, but you ARE allowed to talk about completed games). Given that you were already putting some mental effort into trying to salvage a very difficult scum game, why weren't you more excited about the fact that you were NOT scum in this game instead? "Scum fatigue" seems like an obvious potential explanation for your disinterest in this game; what would be the alternative explanation that you wish to offer us?

Try saying things anyway. People have been doing stuff; try to read into what they're saying and doing and whether you think it comes from genuine desire to find scum or if they're faking it. Scumhunting is a collective process and you can't improve (regardless of your alignment here) if you don't try. You don't need reads on everyone, but you should have at least a somewhat decent read ona few people. Or, if you prefer, think of questions you can ask that will help you to arrive at a better read.

One example of something to consider and share thoughts on:
Is this in fact an unproductive game state? If so, are there people who are especially comfortable with that fact? Who is trying to break us out of that? Are those efforts genuine or does it seem like they're faking it?
