Thanks for playing, everyone! Not everyone got a chance to be the Psychic; if you’re in for another game, please let me know if you’d like to play again with same teams or I can rerandomize and put those who have not gone yet at the top to give them priority. I’m also thinking about changing the 10 pt threshold to “game ends once everyone has been a Psychic and both teams had an equal number of guessing rounds.” Open to any feedback/suggestions for how to make this better for yall!

if i thought about it this way, the atlantic ocean is 8.64 kilometres tall at it's deepest point and the 15,000 kilometres between the arctic circle and the antarctic circle becomes it's widest point, which would have led me to guessing 100 on the scale which is closer to the intended target but wrong on the left/right aspect. if converted to a pancake it would be thin enough to see through.
i have now watched the first eight episodes of brooklyn nine-nine in an attempt to be useful here. it is one of those shows that defines its characters very narrowly and much of the humor comes from the slight differences in its repetitions. kinda like a time loop in which time continues to pass. charles boyle himself seems to be serious about sixty percent of the time. however, one of the jokes for his character is that things he is saying seriously are whimsical to us the audience or to the other characters. i would approximate that about ninety percent of his time on screen is whimsical in some way. so if we balance the characters intentions with our perception of the character it'd put as at 35 or so. i think i'd knock another five off of that because at one point charles boyle describes the new captain as too serious. so 30 would be my best guess.
Shiki OP
I thought it was a popular enough show that at least someone would have seen it.
The logic for choosing Boyle was a little diff, but hey who cares as long as we get the correct result xD

I would like it if we did multiple teams? We have 13 players right now, we could do 3 teams of 3 and 1 team of 4? Then do a league type of thing.

How would Left/Right guesses work? All other teams submit guesses and you get less points for guessing later? (1, .75, .5, .25) or does only one team guess Left/Right at a time?

2 teams play each other at the same time(so just like how we were playing right now), each team plays the other 3 teams twice. At the end the two teams with the most points duke it out for the win(3 rounds, whoever gets maximum points)

what about all teams just guessing left/right and getting an equal number of points? is there something about that that wouldn't work that i'm missing?

although i guess just following other teams' guesses might be bad gameplay?

Yeah, you could just wait until everyone else has discussed/guessed and copy their answer

Oh I see, so more of a round robin then?

If we did a round robin I think I would shorten the main guessing phase deadline to 3 or 4 days. Is it too confusing if I run two games simultaneously? (ala RedCoyote chain reaction)

I think my main concern is wait time because the game takes ~3 weeks at current pace

I don't think so, but we wouldn't know until we try.

Yeah shortening those deadlines would be fine.

You can make a second thread that goes in frogstar world b if you want to run two games at once but keep things separate

thankyou for moderating. i very much enjoyed this game and would happily play again. i really like the guessing and i really like the discussion. when thinking about the problem all wrong, as was the case with the atlantic ocean, the discussion is very helpful to address this. i am okay with the same teams and i would also be okay with rerandomization. it is strange that the one whose mind is being read by the other players is referred to as the psychic but i may also be thinking about this incorrectly.

Running two games simultaneously is a good idea if we have the same amount of people wanting to play again.

I like the game but if it's hard to accommodate lots of people I might should be one of the ones to duck out and leave more room for others

I think we can do two games at once! even though we would have two teams conversing at the same time, they’ll be talking about entirely different clues and the teams will be a lot smaller so I think this can work. also I can always make extra threads if needed.
