We've agreed on a Fizz skin. It takes a while before you can gift to someone you have just added. 2 weeks i think. So we're just waiting for that.

Yup, The way it should be.

I haven't actually lost LP in 20 games or so, because the games I've lost were either at 0 LP or one during my promo series.

okay. i'm level 20 now and have access to tier 3 greater runes. I have about 12k IP, and I haven't really settled into a "main" style of play yet. Anyway, would I be mistaken to make my first runes Greater Magic Resist Glyphs? While Quints, marks and seals seem to vary by playstyle, almost all of the lolpro guides list magic resist as the suggested glyphs.

I don't mind spending a bit of money on RP, so I'm not really saving my IP for characters (and couldn't care less about skins), though I don't think I'm ever going to shell out $100 a month or anything.

That seems reasonable. Flat armor seals are also a solid investment.

You'll certainly want both AD and magic pen marks eventually as well.

Scaling MR or flat btw?

Both are useful but personally I use flat more. That one might be worth waiting to hear the class' opinion on though.

I vote flat. the crossover is fairly late on MR runes IIRC and the point is to give you an early edge. I'd go scaling maybe if you're supporting or something.

because it definitely makes the most sense to take something that scales with levels with a late cross-over on the most xp-starved things in the game whose second-most important duty is lane-dominance amirite

since i'm new and all, if you disagree with advice given, can you just do that rather than go into reflexive sarcasm mode?

Flat MR gylphs, armor seals, magic pen/ad marks (depending ap/ad champ). Those are like the most standard rune pages (except for like supps/ sometimes jungle/ sometimes adc (lifesteal > ad marks)).

Scaling and flat aren't that big of a difference. I personally use scaling because I'm running mres blues on solo lanes but it's up to you.

I highly recommend your first being movement speed quints. They work on EVERYTHING.

*still doesn't own movement quints and feels dumb*

Quints are the most varied though, so it likely makes sense to hold off on those. You'll ultimately get use out of lifesteal, flat AD, flat AP, gold, arguably armor, movement speed... probably a passable one in there I'm forgetting.

Sometimes you'll see people running scaling health yellows and scaling AP blues in mid, maybe a few mana regen blues or yellows, but that's not necessary in the short run.

I suggest armor yelloes and mr blues for your first runes. They work on everything.

Unless their team specializes in early AP burst I feel you'll hit crossover point before you're getting pressured from that angle.
But I did say maybe.

tbf, I run flat MR on my support, but I don't own scaling MR blues.

the crossover is at level 9.

Are you laning against a mage? Use flat.

Are you laning against a not-mage? Use scaling.

That's roughly the rule I use, although it's not actually perfect (I also run CDR blues on supports >.> because 15% CDR base is hilarious).

Times I think it's a good idea to run CDR blues:

1. You are Soraka

(jungle) fiddlesticks is helped by cdr quite a bit.
