Remind me to check AM's meta later.

Also yes I do find RQS scummy as it generally adds nothing and I don't care about people's responses anyway.

Also as a general note those of you with win/loss records in your sigs have self-esteem issues.

Haha, you're probably right :D (At least about me anyway) But I don't know what else to have as a sig and it gives me an excuse to use colours :)

@The Acting Method I think using meta to defend yourself from votes in RVS is scummy. I believe my vote was slightly better than a random vote, which was why I changed it.

Why are the questions necessary?

I assumed that if someone's post was scummy, then you thought that they were. In RVS at the very least that seemed a safe assumption.

DeasVail wrote:That last question isn't directed at me, is it?

Yes, I thought he had voted for you, temporary insanity.

I disagree with the newbtell comment, in my experience newbs do some pretty crazy things as town, and it often gets them lynched.

PEdit: Do you find RQS scummy (as in the people who engage in it are more likely scum) or merely anti-town, if you feel it adds nothing?

And no, I don't think the way you determined your random vote was scummy. Where did you get that idea?

Might I suggest quotes from famous people?

PEDIT: Hello there. Well Tajun's town, nice to have you on board.

Yes, that was mostly to see if you'd actually check my point about the scummy post rather than just drop it.

Also I find that the people are scummy because RQS is a great way to contribute without actually contributing.

ANOTHER PEDIT: Whose random vote Deas?

RE: The Acting Method.

Unfortunately all his games are ongoing, so I can't talk about them. But do the research; I don't buy the meta excuse.

Also I'm not voting him yet because there are like 3 of us here and there are 13 of us playing.

Ooh, hit a nerve have I?

But seriously it's just not necessary.

GODDAMN PREEDIT: Because I'd rather get some more input on this? I could be wrong you know.

It's the connection I made between your vote for me and your post above.

Okay, I'll try to avoid it. Just my last two games devolved for me into a discussion of my site I used to belong too's meta, which I only mentioned once in the more recent case (the earlier case I fell into it and was complaining about it.) so I'm trying to break away from bringing up my meta, Both were mentioned in RQS stage at first (reason I joined the site, to escape the meta I had on the site I came from.)

PREEDIT: Really? Because I disagree; but then, that my point of view...

@DeasVail: Not that, I thought he had voted for you (hence the temporary insanity) and you had asked if he was serious, when in actual fact you said that in response to his comment, which didn't have an attached vote. I am still curious whether you thought his comment was serious or not.

@Xalxe: Interesting, that makes some sense (the RQS comment). Do you know if anyone has researched it to determine whether or not it is in fact used more by scum?

I don't actually, but I feel like it has.

Actually I just searched Mafia Discussion:
http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17729
http://mafiascum.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17500

I have not read these. If they refute my point then they're wrong.

I think random questions being asked during RVS is a null tell, because I've seen them asked by town and scum alike.

I thought his comment was serious, but I was surprised by it.

1.) US Central
2.) Maybe once or twice before I got to work, a little more afterwards. Largely depends on how much I want to post, but I'll usually get one in before and one in after.

Xalxe: I can see where you would think that the 3rd question may not do much, but the first two can help cut down on "Dude, where is X?"-style posts, which is a good thing, IMO.

Seems most people don't like RQS much, but whether it is scummy or not I couldn't find.

I checked TAM's meta, and I'm not convinced one way or the other about his excuse.

And, in a quick re-read to make sure I've got my head on straight, both Xalxe and Deas don't sit well with me.

I agree with Tajun that Deas's post 16 was major overreaction to a simple question. 'Course, he tries to defend himself in Post 20 with "I don't need to post reasoning". However, you don't need to act like it's a serious offense to be questioned, either.

For Xalxe, his 2nd post of the game just really irks me. It sounds like he's trying to make everyone have some sort of problem or issue. It's completely unnecessary (if possibly unintentional) antagonizing. Post 25 (his fourth) continues this largely unecessary overbearing, making a large AtE against people who have W/L records in their sigs, which is VERY unnecessary.

Later, in what seems to be a near-180 from before, he decides to lay off pressure in post 31, using an IMO flimsy reason of "well, there's not a lot of people here" (and later a defensive "I could be wrong!" in post 34). Okay, so there's only 3-4 out of 13 people currently posting. They can add their opinions when they get on, and there's no rush right now to get things out there.

Post 34 goes back to the taunting attitude of his pre-post 31 posts, and
#38 shares the same attitude, pretty much saying "If they don't agree with me, they're wrong".

Overall, I don't like the attitude, and I don't like what he's done at all, not to mention rather flimsy reasons for not trying to push his cases.

HOO BOY

1) I have not and will not vote someone for having win/loss records in their sig (unless it's RVS). So the idea that what I did was an AtE is a) wrong and b) not even the right definition of AtE.
2) I'm sorry for not wanting to place 3 votes on someone within 24 hours of the game start. My bad.
3) Your sarcasm meter is broken on my post about the MD threads.

1. EST (GMT-5)
2. As often as I can. I visit the site at least twice a day.
3. I've only completed 5 games (I'm sorta recovering from a HUGE flaking problem...). I've modded one Open Game, and I'm currently IC-ing.

1.) Perhaps. But seriously, there's no need for it.
2.) And what, exactly, are you so afraid of? 3 votes in a 13-player game isn't even much to talk about, especially on D1.
3.) Sarcasm or not, it still comes off as overly arrogant.

I was confused as to why someone would claim that the reason behind a vote change in RVS was not worthy.

Weird name much?

Hey guys. Um I am at leavers right which means I won't be able to post today after this. However, i'll have something up tomorrow.

In response to RQS:
1. GMT +8, I think. Western Australia.
2. As much as I can. Which is around 2 times a day I think
3. Um I think I've finished 9 games but you can see it in my sig. And whoever said something about win loss records, you're onto something there.

And to somebody who made fun of my name, you obviously haven't been hanging with right people. People named Vijay are pretty awesome.

I probs shouldn't post when I'm out of it.
