Yes roles were re-randomized, or I would never have claimed I was scum in the last throw of the dice.

Me Librarian, and the kid I was trying to bus with NewbScum read.

Anyway, TML looks town for trying to move the game along faster. Discuss.
If Librarian ever flips scum in the course of the game, I'm calling for your blood for trying to slip in this early town read on him (her?)

But is it a valid read?

Hmm. On what do you base TML's townieness, and another, hypothetical point: Can certain PRs confirm the existence of others? Example: Commuters can confirm Hider's existence?

No, not really, but it made me laugh.

re-randomized doesn't mean you can't be scum again. Please stop with the WIFOM.
↑ Phillammon wrote:Can certain PRs confirm the existence of others? Example: Commuters can confirm Hider's existence?
Yes, that's a possibility.
Btw, I love your avatar!

And yes, but I hadn't thought of it that way before. It looks like 1-Shot Trackers know there's a regular Tracker alive, Doctors know there's a Jailkeeper if there's already a flipped Doctor, Commuters know there's a Hider, Vigs/Vengefuls know there's the other alive if one of their own is flipped, and Gunsmiths know there's a Rolecop if there's already a dead Gunsmith.

Thanks. I have several similar lurking on my DA. In any case, Scum or not, I agree with TMLs attempts to move the game along faster. To point out as a starter, I am a flat out newbie at the moment, but: probability wise, we have two to three scum and a potential SK. That gives us between 2/13 and 4/13 of pegging scum, right? As we have about 7 of 13 posting here, that makes our reads basically ineffective with the very real possibility that *none* of us are scum, right? Therefore, if we get posting, the scum are either more likely to slip, or going to start lurking, either of which we can pick up on. Is any of this good and/or accurate?
Thanks for your PR auto-reads, Kondi, by the way. I would have done the same in this half, but you beat me to it.

No.
Let's not forget the hider hypoclaim: no voting after L-2.

What does hider hypoclaim mean? Is it code for "Do not put onto L-1 in case of quickhammering scum before a claim can be made"?
Posted: Wed Mar 14, 2012 10:36 am
by kondi2424
No, it means we all claim who we'd visit if we were the Hider.

There's no way that me wanting to actually play the game instead of talking about the past is a towntell. That makes no sense at all.
@phil: that first paragraph in #33 is incoherent to me. What's your point?

he's saying that it's possible mafia hasn't posted yet, so we should hold off discussion until more people post. But that's incorrect.

And yes, TML, I saw it as a towntell. Why wouldn't scum keep the game stalled by talking about something else?

I just answered a question, so thanks for calling me HELPFULNESS IN RESPONDING throwing WIFOM at people.
I see you've jumped the Watch-Maruchan-Like-A-Hawk-Without-Even-Concidering-He-Could-Be-Town-Ever train though.

Exactly. To prevent scum quickhammering themselves before we have the hypoclaim ironed out, we don't put people on L-1.

Because it doesn't matter in the end.

Apologies. What I was *not* trying to say was hold off discussion. It was, should we pull everyone else in so they're more likely to slip if they're scum, or at least so we can read everyone?

maru, I don't mind rvs. I'm just playing differently. The "why no rvs" crowd however is stupid.
kondi what the hell? you're the one wasting our time by discussing a dead game.
^ there's always some lurker nobodies. they'll have to post eventually or else they'll get replaced. You notice we have 18 days to decide. we won't decide lynch for at least a week, so around that time we'll discuss whether or not we are comfortable with everyone's activity. Lurker lynches aren't uncommon, but most people don't like to do them.

Also: About the mass hide claim: Let's say I am scum. If I kill someone who was claiming to hide behind Townie McTownerson, and an unrelated actual hider hides behind one of us and dies, what does that tell town? Alternatively, if the actual mafia kill is protected and the hider death is found instead. Or if a vig pegged someone, or anything similar. How does the hypoclaim help?

Oops. Sorry about that, just checked, genuine self-WIFOM there. Mea culpa and all that. Related note, should we start making the hide claims during or after RVS?
