The only positions I've used to catch scum are first and last. But I do look for scum among the reasons given for joining a wagon (once said wagon actually flips, mind you).

So if you don't want me thinking you're scum, please give a reason when you place your vote. While you might think the reason is obvious (and here I'm looking at Glork and vijay) I often don't see what others do but can appreciate arguments.

I think CES can vouch for that, I remember asking him for his reasons in another game and getting very frustrated when he said something like "Look at his ISO" -- if I can't see what you see, then I have no reason to agree with you.

I assumed he was being sarcastic with his request for him to claim, I didn't view it as a "I'm announcing that you're at L-1 by saying that I want you hammered".

Only problem with that is your vote was on Fritzler, who had only two votes, so Xalxe is still at L-1, even though your post tried to make it seem like it wasn't.

The point of announcing that you are putting a player at L-1 isn't solely for your own sake, it's to make sure that someone doesn't come along and place a vote nonchalantly and hammer him. I find this to be even more troublesome in the RVS, where players are going to be more inclined to place a quick random vote without reading into the thread.

What's the point of claiming then, since the role is going to be revealed when they die? The claim is supposed to be a chance for you to get of being killed, if you're a PR or something.

Most likely it will; there are significantly more games with more than 7 pages than with less, especially when you look at 13-player games.
