I support CoolBot on this one. I don't see a reasonable case against Beaker at all. How is he supposed to defend himself against an attack that has no legitimate foundation?

The game of one line posts! Let's see if I can remedy that.
Yes, voting someone for voting the mod is a BS reason. However, it was during the random voting stage. I don't really like random voting so much as I've found it to be generally useless. So I like to have some reason to vote for someone. Even if it's because I think they're sexy.
My point? Reading through the beginning posts, Beaker's vote on our wonderful mod caught my eye. This was compounded by the fact that the vote was counted. So rather than join the random vote fiesta, I placed my vote in the most interesting place the game had to offer.
The previous explanation reads as defensive. But it's leading into the following:
After Raj voted and took the bandwagon to 3, I wanted to see what would happen. (not to mention it's a damn sexy bandwagon). Very shortly afterwards, Beaker sounded in with a question -
@Beaker: Did you mean, "Why do you think I'm mafia?"
Upon my return I see that pwnz must've had somewhat of the same reaction to Beaker as I did. Coolbot and Glork are defending Beaker - while Nazgul makes a point about the typical day 1 bandwagonning. I am not even sure what my point is, other than that I think this bandwagon and the reactions to it are very interesting.
@Raj: Why do you believe (seriously) that Beaker is mafia (specifically)?
@Glork: Something isn't sitting right with me about you. Almost like you're being too careful-ish. Something... something.
Oh yeah and I think PJ and cropcircles should join the conversation.

Which seems like a strange question to me. (Although it is possible that it's the wording he used) He also unvoted, which is silly. There was no reason to unvote. We can't lynch the mod. Anyways, the combination of the two things came off as scummy to me. So I left my vote there for the time being.Beaker wrote:why are u serious that im mafia?

I honestly don't think there reallyIbaesha wrote:Oh yeah and I think PJ and cropcircles should join the conversation.
was
a conversation. It was pretty much just a dumb bandwagon on Beaker. If I had posted anything, it would have been along the lines of:In any case, weIf PJ had talked, he would have wrote:Well, what do you have to say tothat, Beaker?
still
need to hear from Beaker, even though I think the bandwagon on him is pretty much unfounded. Also, Ibaesha, Beaker's unvote was
not
the vote he had put on Elvis_Knits, that was his OMGUS vote on Fritz (Post 21, for your reference). If that is one of your reasons for keeping your vote on Beaker, such is a non-existant reason.Further, I think in the context of what Raj said (that being "but seriously. you're (Beaker) mafia."), the response of "why are you serious I am mafia" is perfectly
consistent
. Beaker was simply using the wording of Raj.Although I can understand why you vote him for a "joke post" voting for our Mod, holding that vote on for such weak grounds seems a bit silly.
Unvote, Vote: Ibaesha.
Oh, shoot, my non-existent vote was already on Ibaesha. Dang-diddly.
And actually, a question to our
Mod
: Since only nine players can technically vote today, shouldn't the number of votes required for a lynching be 5 votes instead of 6 (as 5 votes would then be a majority of voting players)?"Logic? I call that flapdoodle."

I missed Beaker's vote on Fritz or rather, forgot about it. However, I'm still unsure of why he unvoted. (It's true, I just don't get the whole unvoting thing) Also, like I said, his question may be how I'm reading it. Tone is often difficult to determine in text. This is why I asked him about the question. You seem to have glossed over that.
Why I'm keeping my vote: I -rarely- unvote without placing a vote elsewhere. Since I was unsure of where ELSE I would like to place my vote (Not sure if it should be Raj or Glork) I left it where it was. I would rather keep a vote that started as randomish on weak grounds then change it to someone else on weak grounds. Make sense?

i unvoted because it was just OMGUS, because there's not really much else to do in this stage, and there was no reason to leave my vote
and petroleum was right, i just used raj's wording

Ibby strikes me as being pro-town, so far. Her reasons for keeping her vote on Beaker (despite the ridiculousness of the bandwagon) make sense, and her post analyzing the reactions is the exact kind of post I would expect from an interested (yet somewhat bewildered) townie.
Pwnz's one-liners bother me, but as I haven't played with him before, I'm not sure if this is typical of his behavior.
There's really not much else to pick up on. Beaker's reaction could point either way, and there hasn't been much real substance otherwise.
Buuuuuuuut.... In the meantime -- now that it's not 01:30 EST after a long night of studying *Points to the timestamp of his last post* -- I've found where to park my vote.
