Simple. It makes no sense for Town to launch a random nuke day one. Therefore, anyone doing it is obviously scum. So you retaliate, which doesn't end the day, as opposed to lynching the random nuker, which = very short day.PookyTheMagicalBear wrote:vote The Fonz
I would like an explanation as to why milkman if he was a player would "have" to retaliate.
No I really don't think that's true. Townies do things that hurt the town, if you assume they're scum and kill them then
Mind you we have two days after a nuke is launched to discuss whether retaliation is appropriate. We should probably have a vote on it or something.

If someone does something that's hugely to the Town's detriment, you have to assume they're scum. 'Trust the town.' Not doing so would allow the scum to do really scummy things then plead ignorance.Jack wrote:No I really don't think that's true. Irrelevent. Random nuking is hugely to the town's detriment, so it ought to be made very clear that anyone doing it will instantly counternuked. That way, we make sure that any townie doing it would be a complete moron, and therefore deprive the scum of the ability to do it without giving themselves away.Y wrote:Actually, scum tries to be more town than town usually, so some one nuking day 1 with no reason proves nothing.
You can't play under the assumption that the town might do humungously scummy things. imo. Gives scum too much leeway. Raffles' example proves the point- by random nuking day one, CES really hurt the town there, to the extent that Raffles is still annoyed about!

why would i OMGUS? i dont think anyone has voted for me (seriously)
also, as a note, i think nukes will only be used by the side who are losing-as it ends the game in a draw. if the scum start look shaky, we may see nukes flying from them. if the town looks like it has no hope, i would expect them to start to launching some hopeful nukes. lol

In nuclear war all men are cremated equal
Dexter Gordon
VOTE COUNT:
4 Anlx (Theo, Jack, NAR, MOS)
2 The Fonz (Y, Pooky)
1 Jack (Battle Mage)
With 12 players alive, it is 7 to lynch.
Nuclear weapons used to date: 0
Mod note: If enough nuclear weapons are use to trigger nuclear winter, it will not cause a draw. It will cause everyone to lose. Very different thing.
I want us to win just for Yos' inevitable rant alone. -CrashTextDummie

Personally, I don't like the tone of that. It sounds like you might be hiding something and showing fear from being nuked as well. The Fonz wrote:Y wrote:Actually, scum tries to be more town than town usually, so some one nuking day 1 with no reason proves nothing.

A townie shouldn't be launching random nukes. Period. The fear of immediate retribution is the best way to prevent them.now a ranger wrote:What if a townie nukes you and thinks you're scum ( you might be scum ), and then you nuke him back? Two townies, dead in a jiffy.
