May I make a request? Could those people who don't have avatars get some? I folloow what's going on by associating posts with pictures, rather than directly with names (plus I'll whizz down the page looking for a person's posts by keeping an eye out for his av). I count at least 3 avless here, and it'll hinder me significantly. I know that I'm asking for a favour here, but it'd really help.

Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.

Like any other game - By trying to hunt out scum ..Korts wrote:Sooo, how do we start about playing a game with a theme like this? This is my first theme game, so do help out.
Theme games generally have 'odd' roles compared to normal games and flavor information also plays its part . I've never played or seen a 11 player game before though- How is the usual setup?

Unfortunatly most of the games start like this where everyone says or does some vote and has to figure out where to go from there. I'm seen a few games where there is a bandwagon going on to clue people in to some scum, but that doesn't happen often.

Well its actually progressing not terribly, just slow. We are on a three week deadline after all.Johoohno wrote:Everyone has chipped in (most ones with a vote). I guess random voting stage is over and done with, how would you like to proceed?logisticus wrote:Oh, the random voting stage, how I did not miss thee.
As for an 11 player game, I have never played in one, but I cant imagine its different than most 12 players games. I would speculate for the mod did this for weighting purposes of some kind, but really thinking about that too much is a waste of time because trying to outguess the mod is usually and exercise in failure.
I tend find themes more fun to play than regulars, because unknown game mechanics adds a new element of surprise. Along the way, I learn about characters in the themes' mythologies that I wouldn't have learned about otherwise.Korts wrote:Sooo, how do we start about playing a game with a theme like this? The question was directed at you.Johoohno wrote:Is it a question to me or logisticus? If it's for me I was just wondering how logisticus would like to proceed a first day game since random voting isn't his idea of how to do it.
Hmm fair enough. Your quote just struck me as odd since you had to go back to page one to quote it .
Another thing i noticed :
Johoohno wrote:Vote lovo14for wasting valuable posting space by confirming in the thread.
You are the only two players to make mentions about the two added rules - namely about the 40 page posting limit and the 3 week deadlines.logicticus wrote:Well its actually progressing not terribly, just slow. We are on a three week deadline after all.
I apologize.
I think that the mechanics in this game should be interesting, especially that 40 page limit bit, I've never played a game with that kind of restriction.
I am however in the mood to start a bandwagon for no apparent reason ...
I want to know what he knows.

I would like to say, that I do not think that only scum or only town read the rules, it would seem prudent that both read the rules so I don't think that anyone can be deemed definitively scum or not scum based on their knowledge of the rules.
unvote: Lloyd
as it is now into the second page and random votes fun but useless.@Lloyd: those were in the jokevote stage. But I guess yours, too, so doesn't really matter. Am I voting anyone? If so,
unvote
Mod errors like what, exactly? I'm newbie, so I can't really imagine what kind of errors a mod could do other than a wrong vote count.Lloyd wrote: Korts, I like rule #9 because it helps prevents accidental mod errors from affecting games.
scumchat never die
Korts,
Here's an example of a mod error that led to a game being halted at:

It's very rare, but it does happen at times, even to the best mods.
