I'm pretty new to the concept of forum mafia but I've played tonnes of live mafia games.

Not sure what you mean by this.

Reading - figuring out who is scum and who is town.

SEs are much better than newbies in reading and I am the exception proving the rule.

Being "right" in your reads is actually not all that good as scum. You'd usually play better if you just didn't know your alignment at all as you played as you then give basically no info away.

Good morning everyone. Sorry for being late, timezones and all that.

Gjt is playing similar to how I initially reacted to being voted in a previous game, as that was my first game and I was not aware it was a custom in terms of forum mafia to random vote D1 to get everyone talking.
Also, this is their first game, at least on this site.

Question for Gjt: were you familiar with the random voting custom on D1 before this game? And, what is your prior experience with mafia?

I am fully aware of the D1 messing about I merely questioned the reasoning and did not like the responce I got from that. This is not being defensive I am an aggressive player generally. Im also seeing I can pull in because imo it will be a good indication on whose scum

Since people aren't that active, I think I might as well do a read list:

neutral for now. Is kind of aggressive, but I don't think that's all that alignment indicative at least so far.
neutral leaning somewhat scum. Seems defensive in tone, but this could also be town too afraid of being lynched. (Which you shouldn't be all that much, since being lynched early doesn't lose the game)

RNG is better than my reads.

Questioning someone does not make you defensive. Its exploring. D1 votes are usually jokey ones, but ones from scum are not. I get a vote anyday im gonna question why can often take a lot from it. I know getting lynched does not mean I lose, not my first rodeo. I just prefer to come out kicking and see what I can get. If I get lynched so what, its usually my downfall, but it gets scum rattled
