the alternative would be that the world decided it would be a good idea to build thousands of nuclear weapons and aim them at each other so they could press a button and end the world and that frankly makes no sense to me

Very offtopic but decent book on IR theory around nuclear proliferation, very accessible and strikes a balance on the theoretical and pragmatic.

all the academic works on nuclear proliferation and strategic deterrance is just a bad marketing campaign.

if you build nuclear weapons and a button that launches them

eventually someone will come along that is dumb enough to press it

think of how much money it took to build the thousands and thousands of nuclear weapons across the world.

and how much more money it will cost to "disarm" them.

and there's no way they would ever get caught.

It's hilarious to me that I have repeatedly managed to juggle several games between main and alt successfully without slipping, but twice now I have managed to slip while in 0 games on my main and 0 reason to even be logged in. Just incredible.
