Greeting is a legitimately dangerous player when he... Actually plays. It would be nice if this vote swings over, but neither one of you have any good reason to do it so it's up to the town to do it. A vote from either of you on him would practically be a scumclaim.

There is no way that we're all goons and town has a cop. I'm going to double check that because it's been a long time since I thought about game balance but in a standard 10:3 normal I think that would be unusual. Greeting is bluffing most likely but let me research that.

that's good! but greetings isn't a cop.

it's honestly not the worst gambit in the world. greeting is the #2 wagon and sussed by most people. by claiming cop, greeting likely draws the nightkill and denies us a mis-elimination on d2. but we can play the uno reverse card by simply not nk'ing greeting. if greeting survives the night, they are instantly under suspicion because why wouldn't scum kill a claimed cop? in addition to all the other suspicion they have going on.

i can't imagine that there would be a cop in this game. all of the fancy titles aside, it's basically just plain cop given the setup of the game as we know it. even guessing totally randomly, the cop would have a 33% chance of revealing scum. (9:3). i've never been involved in deciding normal game balance but that seems game breaking. if town has a PR, it's possibly roleblocker or something. but i wouldn't be surprised if all townies are vanilla.

i think that the "standard gameplay" nk pick is ausuka. they are probably the strongest consensus townread and will be impossible to mis-elim.

however, ausuka is both widely seen as town AND considers crescent and I to be town. if we can stay in her good graces, she could be a powerful ally.

one option is furtive. that would really set up a greeting framejob and actually could implicate both frogster and nero as well, since these were his top scumreads aside from hut. he also is townreading hoppip and myself (i think?) so that's a very nice WIFOM tool, especially for later game reads.

if we aren't interested in furtive, nero is a good idea too. not many people sus him.

like i said, i'm no expert on balance but i do know something about it and i think that a powerful PR like cop wouldn't come into play given that we have no PRs. especially in such a small game. maybe if we had 4 scum and the player pool was larger.

i think the most likely outcome of the d2 morning, if greeting survives, is that he'll probably cop to the gambit as a way to draw a nk but we can slam him for that. fakeclaiming cop is frowned upon b/c it could cause a real cop to counter claim, for example

I agree that Greeting likely isn't Cop, and I'm fine with letting Auskua live for now. Maybe Furtive as well, I think he's causing enough friction that he could get run up, especially if I get flipped at some point and he gets associated with me. Then again, I'm getting PR vibes off of him...I want to go over his ISO again and see if he softed at some point.

Yeah ok, Hutmeil saw it too and mentioned that Furtive seems different this game, I'm assuming they've played together before. I don't really know his playstyle but I get the feeling Furtive is holding back in some way. Maybe to avoid gaining attention from scum?

Furtive's ISO is actually kind of boring. I skimmed his ISO in the game he played with Hutmeil and he seemed a lot more aggresssive there.

Not a newbie game, and he's a bit more laid back here. But he doesn't have the "restrained" vibe I'm getting from our current game.
