I get that some people like hydras, and floats your boat/to each his own, but I'm totally confused about why games with a hydra max limit has become a thing?

Is it to reduce the confusion when they inevitably accidentally post on their mains?

Most of the downsides to having a hydra in your game seem more categorical rather than a matter of degree.

hydrae are inherently hard to read, and if you're playing a 13p with 12 hydrae, it means it is 12X as difficult for you to get a coherent reads list in place than it is with 1 hydra. by limiting the number, htey are reducing the degree to which those who dislike attemptign to read a hydra with conflicting inner-head opinions ave to tolerate it.

Sure, there are those who pull of hydraing AMAZINGLY well, and they use a QT or PT to fight amongst themselvs, then show one unitied front to the other players, and don't let their protrayed opinions differ by who's posting. But then there are those who will explicitly state that they disagree with each other in-thread, which makes life uber difficult.

Also for hydra who don't distinguish who is posting which post, when people make requests for further comment on a past post by the hydra, they can often times get told "that was my other head", and get thrown off of their reads.

Thirdly, some people are able to obtain reads based on a personality style/psychological trait/ specific things a person says/does, and for those people getting the same level of confidence in a read on a hydra can be impossible because of the two differing personalities.

Note, I have no problems with hydraing, have hydra's myself before, and am willing to play with non-obscene nubmers of hydra in games I play, so this is not jsut someone hating on hydra's, this is my personal experience from what I have seen/experienced in games.
