Also, this is blatantly untrue and I can cite about a dozen examples of me saying, as both alignments, that I hate being in 1v1 situations.
Just hate it. I hate being forced to hard energy 1v1s, and then I hate how I get so much shit the next day for getting reads wrong. Because, y'know, that rep we were talking about.

But it's really convenient to push the "rc likes 1v1s as scum" logic because you need to handwave the fact that my play doesn't make sense as scum.

town me from a recent game. I know as scum that I die here for bringing Menalque down, it's established that I could have mislynched someone else and gone after Menalque in LyLo.

why does scum me go after him here instead of lynching whichever of the viable lynches are town, saving him for lylo, and then mislynching him in lylo where town can't hold me accountable for my read after?

Pure WIFOM. In lylo you’ll use this argument to try and make the case that you were just mistaken town and that this helps prove it, and with me dead I’m not convinced there will be anyone there to call you on it.

i've posted my past scumgames. i don't care enough to post this much. i certainly care enough to post this much as town and i don't think it's hard to tell that i'm the same alignment as any of my recent towngames if anyone cares to read them.
i had 5 scumreads in baton pass on my first day of gameplay and 4 of them were scum. in the newbie i was correct on my initial pool of 2 players despite almost every townie in the game townreading jamelia. i correctly called Shoshin scum then lynched OS in public cop. my reads are pretty fucking good, good enough to have a 75% winrate as town and it is HARD to have that high of a winrate as town.

and i'm not even trying to argue yall should locktown me. i'm trying to argue that you should trust me when I say that me and menalque aren't both town and that you should lynch him first, and there's a townblock (suki/joey) that is agreed on by everyone including Menalque now so the argument that he HAS to live to be the townblock isn't valid. just fucking lynch his scum ass.

unlike menalque who STILL will not commit and say "we are definitely TvS and I should be lynched if RC flips town" i've committed and said that. I've spent the day sorting people, coming to different reads, pushing different people, etc. You can read the stuff that I pointed out for yourself, Menalque-Titus associatives are god awful and generally when you have skilled scum the best way to catch them is associatives. OTOH Awoo-Titus is pretty obviously not SvS. i've locked in two townreads that aren't me and i have other townreads besides that would be hard to push on.

i've said this many times. my skill as scum has never been my ability to towntell or post or whatever. it's that i'm smart. it's that i make correct gameplans. it's that i don't make mistakes.
when your ability as scum doesn't revolve around 'spewing yourself town', then you get away with having notable meta towntells like the ones that i've listed bc you don't have to be a universal TR to win

i wouldn't need to do any of this as scum because i'd find a really smart solution to the game like... lynching Menalque in LyLo so that I can't be held responsible for misreading him. or probably something smarter but I'm not scum and without a clear partner idea in mind I can't actually come up with some sort of smart strategy.
