The leagues systems inner workings confuses me. I felt like I easily could have skipped any of bronze 3-1, but now I skip silver 4, when I think that's much closer to (if not) my appropriate placement.

Yeah I always thought Ziggs purpose was to poke and if your opponent stays in lane low enough... ULT!!!

Auto, w in front of their run path, press q and w to match their knockback location with your q, e to zone them off from an area or right on top of them, ult when their movements are predictable.

If you know for 100% you can kill with your combo, then starting off with auto, w, ult, w pop can work due to the knockback keeping them in the aoe.

I thought ziggs's purpose was to feed the enemy jungler

Even after all of the nerfs Nunu is still a absurd 1v1 champion. Infinite sustain combined with strong poke and the ability to disengage from anything without a stun means short of something like a teemo or a malz you're going to win most showdowns.

...and you even had time to carry some idiots in a couple of ARAMs in between Nunu victories!

I have a pretty nice series with pantheon now. You'd like it. 17-0-13 pantheon, with alchemist the potion mastery, and 40 bonus gold. You can start with flask 5 pots if you wait for 5 gold. That's 1155 bonus health. The other points in utility three go to mana regen, spellvamp/lifesteal (hey, I'm an ad caster, woo). Stole it of someone who uses it in midlane, but it's quite the nice build for 1v1's. I'm starting to enjoy this champion.
