I was supposed to leave out with 10 people on Saturday, June 8, at 5:50am (CST) on a Southwest flight to Fort Lauderdale and then on to Grand Cayman. At 8:30pm on Friday, June 7th, they text me to let me know they canceled the flight. For the next two hours, I scrambled to book a new flight for Saturday (which included a non-US citizen so much fun was had). Finally, at 11pm, Delta said they could get us all on a 8am flight Saturday morning through Atlanta. 8am flight was delayed until 9am due to weather. They boarded us at 9am and then kept up on the plane until 11am due to weather. They deplaned us at 11:15 due to weather. They re-boarded us at 11:45am, then sat us on the runway until 1pm due to weather. We took off at 1:30pm and landed in Atlanta at 3:15pm. They didn't have anyone to take the plane to the gateway so we had to wait until 3:45pm when they took us to the gate.. Our connection flight was at 3:55pm...luckily we were still in Terminal E and only had to run 10 gates down. Ran 10 gates with 4 kids year 9 and younger in less than 5 minutes from hitting the gate and boarded the connection only to find out the pilots were delayed (pilots on our same flight). Waited 30min for them to join us and took off around 4:35pm. Landed in Grand Cayman’s at 6:15pm. We were supposed to land at 11:45am.
