You don't think anything at all "yet".
What exactly are you doing then....?
Not risking giving scum townreads because I like a few random posts that are completely alignment-neutral. Unlike most of the players here are doing.

I don't want to ever be endgamed.
It's never happened yet because I don't just throw my trust around.

"What are you doing?"
Not risking giving scum townreads
What part are you having trouble with? It's a cheeky answer because a more direct answer would obviously be "reading the game and talking to other players." I didn't say that because it's very clear that that is happening yet you still asked what I was doing. As if a player isn't playing the game if they're not broadcasting bad reads.

like, you gave some comment about being endgamed and tried to tell me that you dont get endgamed because you dont "give scum townreads". I said i don't see how those are related at all, and you act like i'm a fucking moron or something who doesn't know how to read. not appreciated. i'm having a dialogue with you and you insult me.

What the fuck do you think scum are going to do with townreads?! I mean jesus.... I'm trying to figure out what kind of thought process you're having because it will give me an idea about whether you're town or scum and instead of actually interacting with me like a human being you're treating me like I'm the jackass. Obviously your response didn't answer my question or I wouldn't have fucking posted it again.
goddamn.

It's not what scum do with townreads, it's what townies do with townreads. You townread a scum based on nothing and they slip by your radar. We lynch townies because of a lynch pool narrowed by "lol had fun in that game with you." (this is a hypothetical example on par with some of the reads expressed in this game)
I honestly don't understand what you're finding insulting or why you're upset. You asked "what are you doing?" when I'm clearly trying to discuss the game with other players and figure out reads instead of just making them up. I don't know how else I could have responded to that question other than pointing out the obvious (that that was what I was doing).

I just didn't understand what you meant by "giving scum townreads" and wanted a further explanation. I took it as you wanting to avoid "giving" the scum your townreads - not townreading scum erroneously. I don't think it's unreasonable for me to ask what you're doing if I don't actually see you doing anything that I would consider valuable. I was offended by your
279 because it came off with the connotation that the answer to my question was "obvious" and if it's "obvious" then I must be fucking blind or stupid not to have seen something "obvious". And then specifically, this:
↑ Anatole Kuragin wrote:As if a player isn't playing the game if they're not broadcasting bad reads.
because it sounds like you're saying everyone who has any kind of read at all at this point is bad which I think is nonsense. Some people are easily able to read someone they are close with very quickly. For me, that's Guyett. Every single game we've played together I've pegged his alignment correctly within his first post or two. Every. Single. One. And it's not just a few games either. I think that's a statistic that can be relied on. I would also expect Anti (if he were playing) to peg mollie right away. And I'd expect mollie to peg jiffy right away. These are not unrealistic expectations given history. To say they are bad reads because "lolfriends" is just a bit ignorant imo, because you may not understand the dynamic between those players. It's important to take that into account. Otherwise you are actually saying that everyone here is such a terrible player as to townread someone because "oh yah we had fun" which is pretty ridiculous because they aren't shit players. I respect a lot of the players here based on their history of playing well and playing VERY well together. I'm not going to just instantly discount that. I know there are people I can count on to read someone else well, and I know that they also have the possibility of being scum but all of them aren't and among that there is truth. Even if I can't read someone as well as others doesn't mean I am unable to recognize where I should be looking for an honest answer.
If AP, mollie, and mastin all say jiffy is scum, then there's only one of two possibilities:
AP is dead wrong and mollie/mastin are in cahoots.
Or Jiffy is scum and mollie/mastin are reading him correctly.
His flip from there tells me a lot more than you think.
From your join date, I am only assuming that you know how to play. From your attitude, I get the feeling you think everyone else here is an idiot. They aren't, and neither am I.

I'm not saying that. I implied the answer to your question was clear and that I'd like people to be more diligent with their townreads.
That's it.

Do not do this. 'remove with tweezers, don't pinch' is a contradiction in terms unless you have no nerve endings, in which case you can ignore the sting anyway. If the stinger is still in, use a credit card or the flat side of a knife to scrape it off.

You can use tweezers for the thin, easily manipulated edge without pinching.

already got the stinger out. i used a really thin sewing needle to gouge out the stinger. now all i have to do is make sure it doesn't get infected.

jiffy read mollie as town in organic chemistry (that old large game almost all of this game's players were in). Mollie was scum there.

I'll show you mine if you show me yours?
Why is ward so special to you? He said he was gonna catch up and then unvoted after a "few pages". Not particularly .. anything really.
In good faith: three reasons.
1) He reads Saga and is therefore a sexy and intelligent person
2) I think his posting so far fits with 'in over my head and lost.' I mean, we have like six pages of 'who do I know well enough to meta? what is my meta read on them?' and in-jokes from previous games. He has no context by which to interpret any of that. He's the fifth wheel at this key party, and I have no problem letting him warm himself up before he wades in and gets sticky.
3) T wants him alive, and I have a hard time saying no to him
(Especially since I think the interaction is potentially informative)
↑ Guilty Gunsmith wrote: ↑ Lying Cat wrote: ↑ Guilty Gunsmith wrote:sthar still gets me to this day, though i think i finally havea way to figure him out. i just need him to get in hereand post.
If it's "piss him off so I can read his emotional state" I'd rather you just tunnel me all game. Anything else you can feel free to try though.
Reading your emotional reactions is how I can read you. Why would you not want me to figure you out??
I really don't enjoy being angry. Hence trying to
subvert
'pissed-off jackass' as my town meta
And I've got a letter sitting on my desk. When I open it (and I have to, this week) I'm either gonna go full-on sociopath for a couple days or completely withdraw. Jingle will be around to carry the slot, but I'm trying not to exacerbate it any.
↑ Anatole Kuragin wrote:You people are throwing out townreads like they're junebugs on your screendoor.
It's a meta thing. Also, 'not interesting today' does not equal 'townread' all the time.
↑ Guilty Gunsmith wrote: ↑ Lying Cat wrote: ↑ Guilty Gunsmith wrote:lol that was my question. i just dont remember you acting like that in chosen. sthar8 - assessment?
nonindicative. withholding judgement for now.
I don't like this, by the way. It's a distinct behavioral difference. You have experience playing with him closely, but then give me a non-answer wrt him pre-emptively defending himself and now defending Ward AND MS, both players with nothing in their ISO to warrant such reads.
ETL
Want in one hand, shit in the other.
T's pretty clearly excited to be here, but there are a number of possible explanations for that. Is one of them potentially "he's excited to have the opportunity to kick sthar/etl's asses as scum?" Yeah, but it's early days yet. He's playing very differently than he did in Faith, but he's grown a lot as a person and a player since then, and there were extenuating circumstances.
